Fantasmic dragon update???

It really is sad that they are not able to use the symbol behind the Summer Nightastic marketing campaign. I have to imagine that there are some pretty upset TDA execs out there

No wonder the dragon is sick, wearing those colors!! If it put on silver and BLUE it was be up in no time, and would probably be known as America's dragon! ;)

I know that the chances are slim, but I hope the tiki gods can work their magic and have the dragon going by the 28th! Just sayin' ...

According to Micechat, the dragon is completely gone. "supposively" Disney needs to remake the dragon entirely...

FYI, here is what Al Lutz said today on MiceAge:

Editor's Note 7/17: In case you missed it - 7/16: Work on Murphy (Fantasmic's dragon) has slowed upon the realization that some of the mechanics need to be re-engineered entirely. Right now people are again talking about a timetable in weeks instead of days. Do expect the Magical fireworks show to continue weekends after Nightastic ends, until the new Villains Halloween pyro debuts on 9/25; which by the way Disneyland confirmed along with the Ghost overlay for Space Mountain. - Al Lutz

So did they get a refund? LOL or do they have to exchange it for the same thing? J/K LOL
That stinks they just don't make things like they used to. I wonder how did they get it out of DL? By hellicopter? Or in pieces :scared1:

see thats what happens when u associate the dragon with that silver and blue team from texas and them others :rolleyes1from the other side of the bay ..

dragon loses the will :lmao:

Umm... I love that we are trusting information from a post using the word, "supposively." ROFL - Just found it funny!

Now Al Lutz, I tend to believe.

because the work rumor is that the dragon simply had trouble with his arms and the lift was too small to lift his head.

online rumor is said that his neck broke... so i dont know what to believe atm. :|

Disney was filming haloween stuff yesterday i guess for advertisement. lets hope they dont promise ppl something that they wont get... :|

No really, the dragon is sad because it isn't allowed to wear the silver and black which would complement her so very well.....altho the blue and silver might look good too.....Poor dragon.....

Amen to that. I am forgoing Fantasmic until the dragon is up and working. Otherwise, it's just sad. Fantasmic is my very favorite thing at DL, and it makes me sad that it's kinda half-assed right now. TDA has to be horrified. I know my non-DIS friends have been disappointed to wait in all those crowds only for there to be... no dragon.

Darn. We plan to be there for the premium seats/dessert box to see Fantasmic August 18. I've only ever seen the WDW version and hope that we'll be able to see a decent version in California.

We have Fantasmic Premium seating for the 28th 10:30 show. Even though there is no dragon, my cousins are just here for one day, so we are taking the plunge.

So even though the team was shooting for the 17th, Ms. Maleficent once again didn't want to turn herself into a dragon. Maybe this is a part of her evil plan...

So last Monday, my uncle & his family visited DLR from Seattle & made Fantasmic one of their priorities. Even though the dragon was a no go, he was so amazed by the show. The projections on the water, the light effects, pyro, the characters, etc. This was also his 1st time seeing it, so even w/ no dragon, F! is still a hit! :thumbsup2

The dragon still wasn't there Thurs. night, but since we have never seen the show before, we didn't know the difference. We loved the show and will definitely see it again with our kids when they are older. I would definitely do the reserved seating again, or see the later show since it is much easier to get close seats and you don't have to wait as long.

It is a little bit sad that Maleficent doesn't NOT turn into the dragon, as I think it is the climactic part of F! but nonetheless I think that everything else in F! is GREAT. I was there 4th of July weekend and I loved it! Before the show, the jazz band in NOS was playing on one of the rafts and was traveling back and forth on the Rivers of America for about 15 minutes (they were AMAZING!) I love Flotsam & Jetsam swimming by, the updated projectors that make viewing the footage on the water much easier to see, and the classic parts of the show with the monkeys from Jungle Book, the princesses, and of course the end on the Mark Twain with all the wonderful characters on the boat! So wonderful. Even if it is disappointing that Maleficent isn't living up to Disney's advertisements with Summer Nightastic, its still great to see. I say, if people don't go expecting a WORLD of difference, they'll enjoy it for what it is :)

Wow, I hope they get it up soon. My 3 yos keep seeing the billboards and asking when we can go to Disneyland to see "M'lifinint" and I was hoping to take them before all of the APs get in.

Of course, I'm pretty sure the idea of her is better than actually seeing her because they are *terrified* of that part of Sleeping Beauty.
