ok- i know i've come to the right place for advice! :sunny:

here's the scoop - i have the dining plan and right now i have FDP PS for our last nite - monday may 16.

i know i've read that, while not official, the restaurants have been honoring the dining package with the fantasmic dining plan.

my question is - do i take the chance to use my 4 sit down dining for the FDP? my concern is that it's our last nite and we leave the next day (tues) at 1030a for the airport-- so if i can't use the dining plan for FDP i'm stuck- unless i find a good breakfast.

the other option would be (if possible) change my FDP to Sunday nite, thus giving me all day/nite monday to use the sit down dining if i'm not allowed to use it for FDP.

to add to my decision, Sunday is EMH for MGM! does that make a difference too?? btw-- the calendar at the wdw site says EMH for both AM and PM for MGM that day- is that correct?

PLEASE - any help/ advice/ recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated!!! :wave2:

I called yesterday to make my Fantasmic dinner pkg ressie and was told that you cannot use the dining option credits. It was no big ordeal for us because that gave us another table service for another night. The cost is $28.99 adult and $10.99 for child at Mama Melrose. I also had to give my credit card # so that if I don't show up, the card is charged $10 for each person in the party.

I hope this helps..Have a great trip when you go.. :flower:

thanks -- i know that they tell you that it can't be used, but many have done just that.. so i was just wondering what people thought would be the best scenario for us....

thanks!

I would change it to the night before--just to be on the save--you should know how murphy's law goes. . . .

thanks = should i be concerned that its an EMH day at MGM?

I just got back from WDW last week, and used the Dinign plan with the Fantasmic package and was NOT charged extra.

I told the server, and the hostess and they just said OK and gave me the tickets for Fantasmic.

did the server question you at all- or readily took the dining plan and gave you the tickets?

I am wondering with this plan being new if some of the castmembers don't know all the info. I just booked this for June and was told that it was not part of the dinning plan. I guess when are time comes it can't hurt to hand the card and just see what happens.

that's the dilemma! if i try that on my last nite and they don't take it then i've wasted 4 sit down dinners!

that's why i'm trying to see from people who have actually used the dining plan to see what happened. i know when you ask they say it's not included, but it appears that they have been allowing it.
or
should i change to sunday nite for FDP? or is fantasmic not a good idea on EMH??

Most people have gotten FDP with the dining plan, some had to pay an extra $10. No guarantee.

Could you live with it if they accepted your dining plan but wouldn't give you the fantasmic pass? I'd think that's the worse that would happen.

I told the server that we had the MYW Dining plan and she said that she was not sure if they were honoring that card (I knew they did) and when she came back, she said they did honor that and then gave me the Fantasmic pass.

It may have been a confusion thing, as suggested before, but that was my experience with it at Hollywood and Vine.

With the FDP package their should be no concern for a seating for the show. I would do one park that morning--hop over to MGM have dinner--shop around, then see show. Finish off MGM next day or another day.

I just called Disney to ask about this. The CM (Antonia) informed me that you can use the plan for the Fantasmic dinner package, but then proceeded to misinform me that if we will be able to view the Fantasmic Dinner show from Mama Melrose's, H&V, or HBD. I said, "How could I see the show from the restaurant? My DINNER SHOW ressie is at 4:30 and when I called to make the PS, I was told that the FDP ressies are only available at the earlier time slots." She said, "You CAN see the show from those restaurants. But the Dinner Package with the special passes for seating is NOT included in the plan because that is a special show that costs extra" OMGosh she had no CLUE. I guess I'll just call back and try to get a different CM. How frustrating. The thing that bugs me is if I hadn't known that she was wrong in the first place, I would have never asked for clarification. Misinformation is a dangerous thing!

We have a FDP booked at Hollywood Brown Derby for July 5. Does anyone know if you can use the DDE card for FDPs?

right now i''m leaning to doing the fdp on sunday - this way in case they don't take the dining plan i've still got all day monday to use my last 4 sit downs
