I have read differing responses to this - is the reserved seating for Fantasmic on the sides and not as good as what you could get on your own? I have been to WDW 6 times and have missed Fantasmic EVERY time!! We ARE going the end of August. I haven't made a Fantasmic dining package ADR, but thought I'd check into it. Is it 1 TS? Where would you recommend dining for it - if you would recommend it at all?

We had the FDP in December. We ate at the Hollywood Brown Derby, which counts as 2 TS. We love the Brown Derby--excellent food and service. The ticket for Fantasmic gives you a seat on the right side. Since there is a screen in the middle and one on each side, we had no problem seeing the show. We would do the package again.

I've also done the package and would suggest doing it if you are going at a busy time and don't want to wait in line forever to get a half decent seat. We sat in the seats closest to the divide between the FDP seats and the center general seating area and had a great view of the show! :thumbsup2

We have done the FDP three times and have been very happy with it each time. The seats are in the far right section as you are facing the "stage" area, but the view is just fine and to me it is worth sitting a little farther over to know that you can get in half an hour before showtime without worrying about it. We have done Mama Melrose twice and tried H & V on our trip two weeks ago. Both are 1 ts credit. We wanted to try a change from MM because we felt that the menu was sort of limited, plus at MM we always had to do a very early seating and I liked the later seating times at H & V. I like the food at H & V but it was extremely noisy and chaotic, so I don't think we'll go back again, but food wise I think you would be ok with either choice.

I've done the Fantasmic dinner package twice, both times at Hollywood & Vine, and am doing it again on my trip NEXT WEEK! :woohoo:
I've always stuck with H&V and have found the food to be good. It's pretty typical buffet-fare, but there's always something for everyone. (And it's the cheapest of the 3 choices.) The seating for Fantasmic is on the right-hand side of the amphitheater and I think it gives a fine view of the show. I'm not the kind of person who feels like I need to sit front & center for everything, and not having to wait in line for an hour or more to get a seat makes doing the dinner package worth it to me.
