I'm thinking of getting reservations for the Fantasmic dinner package for my DS15 and myself for our trip in December but not sure if it is worth it. Plus I can't decide between Hollywood & Vine or Brown Derby. Any suggestions? Anyone else's views on the past experience?

We like Mama Melrose - nice and peaceful. H&V is to noisey. Brown Derby to fancy.

You sit in Witches section - nice views.
No need to take the back way to Fantasmic till 45 minutes before the show begins. The back entrance is by the entrance to DHS, by the 'gas station' - to the left if facing the DHS entrance (from inside the park)

We did this in April and I ditched the stroller before we went in MISTAKE!!!! If you have little kids use the stroller... this is a LONG path :)

How old were the kids and did they like it, where they scared?
Thanks

I know this is OT but they were 2, 4 and 7. Hence why it was a long walk I carried the 2 year old :) I was fine going into it and then everyone around us started telling there kids it was scary which freaked me out. So then I told my kids it might be just incase they freaked which was silly because it was fine and they LOVED it!!! Even the little guy he was yelling out "meehee Mow" every time he saw Mickey.

We did Hollywood and Vine this year but next year will be trying Mama Melrose good luck:)

We did this in early Sept at Mama Melrose...good food and I like the fact the appie is included (even with the regular DDP)...it is so worth not having to line up 2 hours early...we were there 30-45 minutes early and we were at a perfect level for viewing (about midway up the amphitheater).

Fantasmic is awesome and is definitely better if you know you're in without waiting and hoping (especially on nights they only have 1 showing). Brown Derby is fabulous, one of the best meals of our trip. Salads were extraordinary, filet mignon was fabulous, desserts were awesome. We are going again the end of this month & doing the fantasmic/Brown Derby package again.

Thanks everyone for your kind advice! I just took a peak at the menus and now I'm down to Hollywood & Vine and Mamma Melrose (I'd personally like to try the Brown Derby but think my son might feel out of place).

The trip was originally planned for me and my DBFF but we are not speaking right now :sad2: so I changed it to invite my DS15. He will be coming for the entire trip & I planned on going to HS on Sunday (our 2nd day). Now I have a new dilemma - my DD might come and join us for Friday -Sunday so now I wonder if I should wait to make my reservation for Fri or Sat (she may be bringing her 14 mos old son so not sure if this show would be too loud). Oh and also my DS30 may join me for a couple days but not sure when yet lol.

Another question - when do I make my dinner reservation? If I want to go to the 8 p.m. show, will 6 p.m. be early enough or 2 early?

I think it's deffinatley worth it. We usually do H & V and have always been happy with it. It's nice not having to worry about standing in line or worrying about what section you'll be seated in! :)

I don't think it's worth it but if I had to pick one resturant it would be MM.
