Fantasmic Dinner Packages

I'm a little new to the DIS board so bear with me. I've done the majority of my planning with the help of this board so I'm hoping someone will be able to help.

I called bright and early this am to get a PS for the Brown Derby Fantasmic Package. The told me the latest seating for this is 4:00pm. I took it not knowing any better. I asked if there were later seatings - not on the package - and there were.

Do they open later seatings further down the road or should I be lucky I got one?

Yes. The later seatings have historicaly come out between 35 and 21 days before your date.

I had the same thing this morning for Hollywood & Vine. The latest was 4:30 and I was on the phone and 7:00 am.

I am assuming when the later times come out I can switch my ps?

I have a PS for Fantasmic at Mama Melrose on July 2 and had called at the 90 day mark to make the initial ressie. I was given 4:20 and called sporadically hoping for a later seating. At 29 days out, I got lucky and they had a 6:20 seating!!! Originally I was told that they ONLY had early seatings for Fantasmic--it was their way to fill their restaurant the entire night. Apparently that CM didn't know they were going to open later seatings at a later date. Keep trying...something should open up as you get closer to your date!!

Yes, as the other posters have said, keep trying. The later hours have typically opened up about 30 days out, but I got my August 2 time about 55 days out. I had first booked a 4:20, then from a tip here called at 55 days. The CM initially told me they don't book anything later than 4:30,: but I told him I knew someone had gotten a 6:30 and he checked....sure enough they were available and I was able to get my 6:20 that I had wanted. So keep trying, you'll get it

I have tried to post this question as a new thread on both the TPAS board and restaurant board, but for some reason it won't take it so I hope you won't mind if I post it on this thread. Would you do the Fantasmic Dining Package on an EMH night at MGM, or a non-EMH night? We will be there 09/30-10/08 and definitely want to include this in our itinerary, but am just not sure when to go. Would the EMH night be way too crowded?
