Has anybody done the Fantasmic dinner package? What do you get for your money ? Anybody have an idea on the cost ? And is it worth it ???

I cant seem to get much info from the DW site ...

cheers :)

it doesnt cost any more than the meal at the participating restaurants. You get reserved seating for fantasmic without having to queue for ages. If you are going to eat in the park anyway then you have nothing to lose!. Hope this helps.

So we dont have to book a dinner package to see Fantasmic ????

We can just turn up and queue to watch it normally or book dinner at a certain restaurant to queue jump with reserved seats ???

Thats about it yes. The seats that are reserved are the ones to the far right of the auditorium. On the day we went there were 2 showings of Fantasmic and the reserved seating was all for the 7pm showing.

I've been looking into this myself - you have to book either Mama Melrose, the Brown Derby or Hollywood & Vine buffet. They are are all a 3 course menu (except H&V which is a buffet). H&V and MM are 1 DDP point, BD 2.

When you make ADRS you have to request the fantasmic dining package -there are only so many of these. During the meal you will be given a voucher to sit in a reserved area for fantasmic (the block the furthest right - not the best seats). You have to arrive approx 45-30mins before.

I've been checking up on how thinsg have been going with fantasmic 2 or 3 times a week, and it doesnt look so bad. The last time we got there 1.5 hours before and bought counter service food in with us and ate it as we waited to get good seats. People seem to be doing the same.

If its bust they are putting on two shows a nights too-and the 2nd showing is always much quieter.

Sorry but I don't 100% agree with this. We have been to see this show many times and have sat in most parts of the auditorium. The last 2 times have been in the reserved area and I don't think it is any worse than anywhere else.
Because a lot of the show is performed on the water screens, and these are angled towards the left and right hand sides as well, everyone pretty much gets the same view.
And you will see everything that happens on the stage as well because of the tiered seating.

Have done the fantasmic dining package at all three restaurants over the years and have to say that Mama Melrose was fantastic last year and well worth the one DDP credit that it cost. Even if you are paying it's still very good value. I would go back there in a heartbeat, it really was that good.

The package is great as you don't need to stand inline for the show:thumbsup2

True - but personally I think the seating is much better in the centre - I've sat on both sides and the centre, and much prefered the centre. I think you have a better view to watch the show.

It maybe because we were the last two seats on the right handside!:)

Previously I had done the dinner package once at H&V and then Mama Melrose not too impressed with either of those restaurants and the reserved seating wasn't the best.
Then on our last trip we decided to get a counter service meal and took it into the auditorium and chose our own seats it was so much better :) even with sitting around for a while, it gave you a chance to rest your legs after a busy day :)

So if the show starts at 9pm and we decided not to have a dinner package before it, what time would you start joining the normal queue and when do then allow you into the seats then ??? :thumbsup2

And they allow you to take food in with you ?

ta...:)

I would get there for 7:30ish, lots of people take food in and you can buy snacks in there too. If you keep an eye out on the attraction strategies board there are reports of what time people are getting there for etc. With the american idol show now open its shouldnt be as busy.:)
