Fantasmic dinner packages during the week?

We are headed to the park next week for the full week and noticed that, although Fantasmic is scheduled for two shows every night of the week, the dinner packages are only available for the weekend (and holiday Monday), but not the week days. Anyone know if this is standard, and when that's the case do the normal dinner package areas become general Fastpass seating?

(Fantasmic was actually not scheduled for the weekdays at all for next week until a calendar change two days ago, when they added the weekday shows)

I posted a similar question about the Hungry Bear on the go package. It was suggested that dinner packages should be available for every Fantasmic show, but that HB might only be available for dates with 2 showing. Since you are going next week, it's possible that the packages are already sold. Keep checking back - something might open up. Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply, Lizzie. I just spoke with Disney Dining, and the woman I talked to said that they don't do the Fantasmic dining packages during the weekdays, only on the weekends - at least that's the case during our dates.

Which I'm guessing means that on those weekday nights they open the viewing areas normally reserved for those with dining packages to the folks with regular old Fastpasses.
