Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Just wondering if Fantasmic Dinner Package is really needed this time of the year at MGM (Thurs 2/5). We'll have DD 6, and DS 4 in tow. Also, any thoughts on Sci-Fi vs. 50's Diner? Thanks for your help, this will be our first visit to MGM

we had no problems getting a seat for fantasmic 1/9-19 and did not need the package..we got there about 20 mins pre show and walked right in but if you had a larger group ( just 2 of us) i wouldn't wait that long to get there. wouldn't line up 90 mins before hand though as there were seats available at the beginning of the show and the weather was good, park normal crowd for that time of year.

i would again skip the package if i had it to do over again since the first day we planned on going ( and would have gotten the package for) it was freezing and due to some muscle problems I have I could not tolerate sitting on the ice cold metal benches for the 30 mins preshow plus the show) even with jeans and winter coats).. we went a few days later when it was warmer with no problems but we would still have wasted the package since you don't know how the weather will be that time of year.

we got a 3:55 PS for scifi, waited a long time for our seat( probably 40 mins and our food which was just a burger ( good ) and soup (good) and didn't get out till it was very close to time to go to the theatre for fantasmic maybe 6:10 or so.
