Fantasmic dinner package...

Never done this. Can anyone explain? Can we eat at Sci-Fi for lunch or dinner? Do I have to prepay in advance? Can WDW Dining set it up now for a few weeks from now? How good are the seats the reserve?
How long are people waiting to get into Fantasmic this summer?
