Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Hi! DH and I want the kids and grandkids to see Fatasmic when we go in September.

Could someone please give me info? We are staying off-site. Do you have to stay on Disney property to get a dinner package? Do you get to choose what restaurant you go to? How far in advance can I get the tickets for this?

Any and all info will be appreciated.
