Got myself in a bit of a muddle. I have booked Hollywood and Vine for 7pm ish on a Fantasmic night, thought it was too good to be true and now after reading some posts, I think it may just be a general dinner buffet booking. Could anyone add some clarity. Thank you

If you didn't book it as a fantasmic dinner, it is just a general ressie. There is a place online when at the booking sight that says "fantasmic dinner package". You click on there and it takes you to a different page where you can make those ressies. You have to give a credit card just to hold the ressie. If it makes you feel any better, we don't do the dinner package because the one time we did it, the seats were not very good, way off to the side, and we have better luck on our own. Good luck to you!

Hiya , you do need to book as Fantasmic Dinner Booking, I couldn't book online for my dates it was showing not available but called WDW
and nice CM got us booked in ! You could just keep your normal dining reservation and queue for the Fantasmic as normal. But whenever we have tried you'll need to queue about 2 hours before the show and with a 5 year old this isn't this easiest way to go, Good Luck. :thumbsup2

I guess it's personal needs and preference Have Fun.

Certainly not the Fantasmic package as the latest time you can book is 5pm
Go here and see if there is availabilty for your dates.

Now they have cut the shows its a nightmare to see Fantasmic, no way would I go without doing a dining package. Last time we tried without we got there about 90 mins before to find standing room only at the back, not fun. Even getting a seat for 90 mins-2 hours they are so uncomfortable I just wouldn't do it again.

Thanks everyone, I knew you would be able to help
Just had a look Wayne but 1st September is not available yet
We had a ressie last time we went ( Aug 09 ) and I remember having to ring for it but on the day we had to cancel as my daughter was unwell, so this will be hopefully 3rd time lucky for us

I just checked for you, no availabilty at either H&V or Mama Melrose on the 1st Sept. Are you still there on the 4th? availabilty if you are quick for H&V at 4:45pm. for 3 people.

It will not show if you click on the calender, if you highlight the date and copy and paste this 09/04/2011 it then should work. It only works manually like this.

Yep im with Wayne on this one you will have to be there about 2 hours b4 to even think of getting in or getting seats....With young kids too this is a big no go :scared1:

I had the same problem trying to book online for September when i did ours, Just gave up in the end and called WDW got booked on Fantasmic for 1/9/11 ... Cant wait

Thanks Wayne, with your help I did indeed get a fantasmic package on 4th Sept which is our last night :yay:

Does anyone know the up to date pricing of the fantasmic packages?

Wasn't going to do this but maybe we should think about it.

Is it really worth doing the fantasmic dinner package?Any idea how much it costs? I am not sure whether the show is worth the queues, or the wait? Is the rest of the park open when the show is on? Is it a good time to do some of the other rides/shows? Help!!

Latest prices I have seen
Brown Derby $46.99 adult and $11.99 child (or 2 dining credits) 3 course
Mama Melrose $32.99 adult and $11.99 child (or 1 dining credit) 3 course
Hollywood & Vine $26.99 adult/$13.99 child (or 1 dining credit) buffet

There is no way I would line up for Fantasmic again, 2 hours is too long for me but I also would not pay these prices just to gain access to Fantasmic, we did it last year on free DDP and are again this August, a nice perk on DDP but none of these would be my choice to eat if paying OOP.

IMO the Fantasmic show is very very good and worth seeing :thumbsup2, But like Wayne has said to queue up for two hours before ( and you really do need to queue this long ) is a little crazy esp' if you have young kids....

Can someone tell me wht days its normally on and wht time roughly? Our dates not out yet and hvnt done fantasmic since 2008.

If you want to hazzard an educated guess, they usually run F! on Sundays and Thursdays.

ETA: If you are one to check the best park days/park to avoid, if you don't plan to see Fantasmic, these are the days you do NOT want to be at DHS!
