We are thinking of doing this when we go down this summer. I am looking at Hollywood & Vine. Do they still have characters at lunch? I have a soon to be 5 year old and he loves Playhouse Disney...soon to be Disney Junior. :confused3 The Disney website says that Hollywood & Vine only does dinner ADRs for the package but I can get a 3:30 ADR. Is that really dinner?

TIA

The Disney reservations web site shows breakfast is 8:00AM-10:20AM and lunch is 11:00AM-2:25PM. Leo, June, Handy Manny, and Agent Oso will only be there during these times. No characters at dinner.

Had dinner in 2008 and lunch in 2009, didn't care for the food much. Breakfast in 2010 was great -- food was fine and our DS5 had a lot of fun dancing with Agent Oso and Handy Manny.

For the Fantasmic package, I'd pick Brown Derby... 2nd choice Mama Melrose. Brown Derby is more expensive (or 2 credits on the dining plan) but food much better. Appetizers are included with the fantasmic package (even if not on the deluxe dining plan). Brown Derby is also closer to Fantasmic.

My review of Hollywood and Vine -- follow the link below.

Just another comment...the 3:30 reservation. You will find that all the restaurants that offer the Fantasmic dinner package don't have seatings later than 5pm and those are hard to come by. You are usually going to find seatings between 2:30-4:30. I think they use the Fantasmic dinner package to fill the restaurants during what would normally be down times.

I forgot...I also agree that I would rank my choices:

Brown Derby
Mama Melrose

If my only choice is Hollywood and Vine I would rather take my chances with the seating and not book the dinner package. We ate dinner at H&V once and swore we would never return. The food was really not very good.

Thanks! I was hoping with the 3:30 it would still be lunch and my DS would get to see Oso. I had read that Oso could only be seen at Hollywood & Vine and I had hope we see him and get the package at the same time. I'll check out the other 2 and see if anything is still open.

Thanks again!
