Can someone explain how the dinner packages work for the Fantasmic Show? We are interested in doing one at H&V. What does it cost? Do you make the reservation for a specific time and then go right after to the show? We have a Grand Gathering in September and will for sure need ADR's. Any information would be so helpful. TIA

I'm not sure on the cost of the meal at H & V. The gist of things is you can make a reservation for dinner anytime after 5p. There is a special area at Fantasmic who are part of this package. The show is what closes the park so dining after the show is not an option.

There are limited Fantasmic dinner packages, so when you call you'll have to ask about H&V for the day you want to see the show. I think it's about $25 per person. They'll tell you what times they have open- you may have to eat at 4:30 p.m. After you eat, they'll give you little tickets that will allow you access to the special seating area and they'll tell you what time to head over to the theater. So you may have several hours between your meal and the show.
We did this at the H&V two years ago. The food was meh but we all found something we could eat. The desserts were a little better. Then, we got to the theater and just before the show was to start, thunderstorms started to roll in and it was cancelled. At this point, we were out of luck -you do NOT get vouchers for another show. We ended up just showing up another night really early and waiting for the show. It was spectacular but back then it was every night so it wasn't too bad getting in.

The Fantasmic Dinner Package seatings are between 3:30 and 5:30. They do not completely book the restaurants with Dinner Package seats - only a portion of the tables is set aside for dinner packages. The do not book later than 5:30 on the packages because they need to make sure that your party is completely done eating & out of the restaurant in time to get to the theater 60 minutes before the show - and it is a hike over there, too. The later seatings go first (and they go very quickly.) You could very well call exactly on your 90 days mark and have nothing but 3:30 seatings left -- or even none left for the limited number of showings while you're there. So be prepared, and be flexible on which date & which time you'll take...you can also get the Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose Italian. Brown Derby also has the package.

Price-wise, At Hollywood & Vine it's around $27 per adult/$14 child; Mama Melrose is around $32/$12; and Brown Derby is around $46 adult/$12 child (these are all "Disney child" which means 9 & under...age 10 & up are Disney adults.) They do take a credit card to guarantee the reservation. (they will charge I think it's $10 per person if you don't show up & don't cancel in advance)
