Fantasmic Dinner Package?

I'm way out of the loop on this one because we haven't done it in years. Is there still a Fantasmic Dinner Package available?
If so, can it be booked with the DP?

TIA

Yes and Yes. The three restaurants that participate are: Hollywood & Vine, Mama Melrose and Brown Derby (Brown Derby is two table service credits per person).

Not only can it be booked on the dining plan...but from several posters here, I know I've read that you get an appetizer with it even on the basic dining plan if you select Brown Derby or Mama Melrose. (Hollywood & Vine is a buffet).

(It doesn't include the tip though).

Could anyone kindly explain to me what the Fantasmic dinner package is? Thanks!!!

You book dinner at one of those restaurants and included in the package are vouchers for "reserved" seating for the evening's first Fantasmic show. If you don't get this "special seating" many end up sitting/standing in line ahead of the show to get in for the first come first served seating. The Fantasmic package seating is good to fine, but many do it for the convenience of not needing to hang out in another Disney line to get a good seat.

We did the package, ate Hollywood & Vine, enjoyed the choices that the buffet offers and appreciated the short cycle time to our reserved seats. One draw back it seems the Fantasmic ADRs are pretty early in the dinner hours. Perhaps this varies with restaurants or we just booked late.

Thanks...that's awesome....and there is no extra charge for that?? I thought I read somewhere that there are two Fantasmic shows??? Thanks again!

On some nights there are two Fantasmic shows. The reserved seating voucher only applies to the first show on any night. We were on the Dining Plan so still only cost us 1TS, no extra charge. I'm not sure if there are extra charges if you pay OOP. They will probably take a CC to confirm though.

I have read many poor reviews of Hollywood and Vine (which is all we can get into for Fantasmic during our stay.) I don't really want to eat here, but thought I wanted the fdp.
So I'm wondering if we should do the show without the package. I have read that some people (without the package) can't get in at all after an hour wait. I have read others who have said the package is a waste. They had to be there 45 minutes before the show, while the people without the package came an hour before or less.

How does it work? Is there a line outside the theater? How long before do people start lining up? How long before do they open the doors? What time is the show in September?
How long before would I need to go to get seats?

We are hoping to go September 16th.

Well my review of H&V wouldn't be poor. We had great service, a good meal and my 6yo nephew was very entertained with the kids activity sheet while he actually ate a good dinner. It is a basic menu, but there are a lot of choices and we left full, with orange floats (soft serve and orange soda) in hand.

To each his own. You'll find poor reviews of Mama Melrose and yes even at 2TS the Brown Derby. You have to decide package or not, then rank the restaurants and hope you can get an ADR to match. If not grab some CS food and eat while you camp out in line for seating.
