I read on another thred that folks who love the Brown Derby avoid it during the Fantasmic "rush" because it just makes for a bad experience. I am more of a "foodie" than anything else, so I guess I am wondering how much of an advantage the Fantasmic dinner package truly is? How are the other seating compared with without the package?

We did it once and for the ease of getting in and out of Fantasmic, it was worth it. But the cost was a "quiet" dinner at the Derby. Since we never had seen Fantasmic, I guess the "cost" was worth it--but barely.
Now that we've seen fantasmic, no need to see it again for a few years, and so when we do dine again at the Derby, we'll time it to avoid the fantasmic crowd.

I agree with Uncle. It is a bit noisey but I accept that tradeoff for the good food and the ease of getting in/out of Fantasmic.

We've done Fantasmic both ways. After last year's waiting in line for Fantasmic just to shut out for the first show (they had two showing that night) we decided to try the Dinner Package this year. We loved it. We ate at Hollywood and Vine so can't comment on Brown Derby but it was also crowed there and rather loud. Food was great. It was worth it to us not to have to worry about getting a seat for Fantasmic especially since they only had one show per night this year and we definitely didn't want to get shut out. The seating is off to the right hand side as you enter the stadium. We got there a little early and had great seats. I'm sure that there might be better seats inside the stadium but you would have to line up awfully early to get them. In fact the seats that we had with the Dinner Package were much better than any of the seats we've had by just standing in line. IMHO the Dinner Package was well worth it!

We did Fantasmic Dinner Package on Sunday, Aug. 10 and made the reservations the morning that we got to the park. Just stopped at Hollywood and Vine and asked for the Dinner Package. I don't know if it is always that easy to get reservations or not or whether the crowd was just down and we got lucky!

I arrived last week on a Friday, and was able to get a package for Sunday. I think the package is worth it , because I hate to just stand in line before the shows. You have to eat anyway, so why not combine it with the show. The seating was off to the right, but I was able to get seats all the way to where the seating met up with the regular seating so it was practically near the middle. We took our seats about 30 minutes or so before the show started.

We did the package on 8-9 and it was definately worth it! We have waited in line to see it and to be able to show up later while the rest of it was full and get a front row seat was AWESOME!!! We ate at Hollywood and Vine and really enjoyed it.
