Fantasmic Dinner package with the dining plan.

We have yet to see this show, and am wondering if I book the Fantasmic dinner package to Mama Melrose, will I be able to use the dining plan credits?

Sorry to hijack, but wondering if Mama Melrose's is considered the best restaurant out of the three for the Fantasmic pref'd seating dining. Any other thoughts on the other 2 restaurants that offer the pref'd seating?

We have "free" DDP and I have decided I might as well find out about it since we might not get it again. It's a lot of work to figure out where we are going to eat for 6 days and nights!

We have only done Hollywood & Vine with the fantasmic pkg. Would like to try Mama Melrose..but have some picky eaters in my bunch.
While HW&V is nothing to write home about...it's okay...we do it for the package more than the food.

I certainly think it's the best value of the three. Hollywood and Vine is YUCKY! Brown Derby is two credits and not worth it. Mama Melrose gives you the app, entree, drink and dessert plus Fantasmic seating all for 1 credit.

Thanks for your input! I seem to recall that the opinion of H&V was not very high, and you have verified it. I did start another thread, saying that I booked MM's for lunch for the F! pkg and was curious to know how anybody liked this situation, since F! is showing at 6:30p only 2x a week in mid Jan.

Agree! If we're doing the Fantasmic pkg, we always go with Mama Melrose. We've tried Hollywood and Vine four different times, when we couldn't get Mama Melrose and finally said never again. Brown Derby is good, but not worth two credits, unless you just have the credits to waste. I've had CMs tell me however, that Mama Melrose always goes first and is the most difficult to get.

We usually do HBD because we do Deluxe dinning and have the credits for a 2 credit meal. If not I would chose MM over HV every time. HV is not very good!

I have a question about the fantasmic dinner package. My sister wants to go to the 6:30pm show the day we arrive. We'll be coming into Orlando about 2:50pm. Having been on DME before I know we'll probably get to Port Orleans by 4-4:30pm to get checked in. My sister seems to think as soon as we're checked in we're going to have to book it right to Disney-MGM Studios (sorry I refuse to call it by any other name) to get in line for fantasmic an hour or more early so we're guaranteed a place.

I came across the fantasmic dining package when I was checking out the menu for hollywood & vine since we seem to have come up with an extra dining credit since we were only planning on using a quick service at mgm that first day. What intrigued me is the VIP pass to Fantasmic guaranteeing us a place at the show. Due to time constraints and since the show is only 30 minutes long is it possible to do the show first and then eat at MM or H&V after it at say 7:30pm or must you definitely eat beforehand in order to be given the VIP pass into Fantasmic?

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you have to do dinner first. That is when you get your reserved seating "pass." Honestly, you are cutting it very, very close to get in to see the show at all. People start lining up 90-120 minutes prior to show time. One of the main reason people chose the package is to avoid that wait. HTH

The latest meals for the Fantasmic package are usually around 4PM. Please correct me if I'm wrong other disers. So this definitely won't be an option for you.

Just call the WDW dining number. Yes you do have to call, as nothing about it will show up online. Yes they will ask for a credit card to hold the reservation. You will see your reservation online though if you log on and pull up your ressies on their website. HTH
