we have never done a fantasmic dinner package -- I think it seems like a good idea to get the reserved seating for the show -- which restaurant do u all like best? and what have your experiences been with it? thanks! it will be me, hubby and 3 picky little boys!

Either do the H&V buffet or check out the Italian menu at Mama Melrose to see if there is anything your kids will eat. I think you might be able to eliminate Brown Derby.

we have done both Hollywood and Vine...and also Mama Melrose...both places with adults, ww people, and elderly person and munchkins...they loved the assortment at H & V and they LOVED the spaghetti and meatball cupcake at Mama Melrose...the kids loved the meal there as well as the adults...both choices are good

HBD was extremely expensive for the package I thought. It was fun till the thimble size desserts came.

We just did this and ate at Mama Melrose. We really did not like the food much however it was a Friday night and it was packed so maybe it was just an off night. We were very happy to have the Fantasmic tix as the line to get in was all the way down the street. The waiter gave us tickets that looked like the old fast pass cards. They have CMs near the entrance next to the tower of terror and the Beast show moving people with the Fantasmic package to the right and we walked right in. We had the dining package so to us it was ok and maybe we should have had the pizza instead of a meal.

I agree with the PP. Unless your picky eaters like pasta, I think a buffet is a safer choice. There are bound to be at least a few things they like to eat. And then there's the whole character thing, which isnt available at dinner.

We did Mama Melrose lunch and everyone in our party of 8 adults and kids loved it! I still dream about that sauce on that steak. So good!

I would say H&V Fantasmic lunch. Great for picky eaters and you get the combo of the Disney Jr. characters and the Fantasmic vouchers.

We opted for this one for our next trip, given that we have 2 kids and they will enjoy the characters and will find something to eat at the buffet. We are not excited about yet another buffet, but they do seem to work well for kids. We were not impressed with MM the last time we had a Fantasmic package so we are trying something new.

For the OP, be sure to book 180 days in advance. I booked 180 +1 and could only get an 11:30 or 1:30. By 179 days in advance, all H&V Fantasmic package lunch reservations were gone.

I am around 100 days from my stay and yesterday the H&V F! Lunch pkg was available for 11:45am and 12:15am on July 24. So not impossible to get it after 180 days!

We've done both MM & H&V. We're doing H&V again in June. With three picky eaters, a buffet seems the way to go.

Have only done the Brown Derby. I might not want to it with young kids. However I do need to say that it was probably the single best meal we had on our last trip. May have been the fantastic service we got. The sc that served us was so animated and informative. We left there giving him a very large tip as he really made our day. The pixie dust was flowing that day. Something to keep in mind for the future.

My vote is for H&V. We've only ever eaten dinner there - no characters. Have done this several times with young children - lots of choices. Although my boys are definitely not what you'd call picky eaters. This worked out great for us because they got to try out different food - and a lot of it!!

I was pleasantly surprised with Mama Melrose. We mainly picked it because my kids love spaghetti, but dh and I really enjoyed our meals. We have pretty high standards :P

How do you book a lunch fantasmic package? I went to MDE on Disney's web site and it only shows me dinner packages?

Appears the lunch package is also called the dinner package. Just adjust your times if you want to do it for lunch. There is no price difference.
