Fantasmic Dinner Package Questions

Hi - Haven't been on here in years. Starting to plan a trip for this summer (first trip in 3 years) and two of my kids will now be adults in Disney's eyes (will be 12 and 11 in by summer). The last time we did Fantasmic the crowds were horrible. Made the whole experience rather unpleasant. So I was looking at the dinner packages. Is the seating really a lot better? Does it make the crowd experience less insane, we were getting pushed and shoved. Hard to hold onto the kids. Also, since two of my kids are now "adults" which I get but is still so funny to me because they are sooooo not adults, I assume I have to pay for them as adults for the package but I know my younger one would only probably order off the kids menu. She is a very picky eater. I assume she could do that and I just have to "lose" the money? I was looking at mama Melrose and the only thing I could see her eating was the kids cheese pizza.

Yes to your first 2 questions. We did this twice: Brown Derby and Mama Melrose. You can wait to enter a little later and the seating was pretty open when we did. No crowds to fight. Not sure if you can order them kids meals on this package. What did the WDW site say? You can drill down to the Fantasmic pacakge reservations.

yes you will have to pay as an adult unfortunately, even if they would order off the kids menu. It is the price of the convenience.

The package has been worth it to us: good seats & easy access. You will pay for the adult meals for the kids. Maybe go to Hollywood & Vine for the buffet instead of Mama Melrose so they can just eat what they want.

The buffet is more expensive than Mama Melrose if they are looking at dinner. Even lunch is about the same price so no savings there, either. The OP might want to consider eating elsewhere ( maybe Sci Fi?) and getting a F! FP instead ( usually can get one as your 4th or 5th in the afternoon).

You have to pay the adult price, even if the kids order off the kids menu. There's no price flexibility with a package.

With package the seats are lot more better! We made it 2 Times in november, 1 with package, 1 without. The second Time i saw Mickey but i assume just by color because i Was sooooooo far!

You could always see if they'll make you an adult sized portion (so it would help "justify" paying that price). I know many restaurants will do that.
Regarding seating, it is in the middle section of the arena and it's perfect. We had awesome seats! We showed up about 30 minutes and just walked right in instead of waiting in a long, crowded line.

I have a question also...if using the dining plan, does it use one child ts credit for a 5 year old?

Where are the current prices for the package? We currently have the dinner package booked at MM, but I was thinking of switching to H&V instead for the same reason as the OP. We did MM our last trip and loved it, but we were on the dining plan. This time we are paying OOP and my kids are now paying adult prices as well. Allears says the F! pkg at MM is $37.99 for adults, and lists H&V as $30.99. Is that incorrect?

1 TS credit per person, adult or child, at Mama Melrose and Hollywood & Vine
2 TS credits per person, adult or child, at Hollywood Brown Derby because it is a Signature Restaurant.

This is the pricing I found on the Disney World website...

The Hollywood Brown Derby: $62.99 for adults; $21.99 for children

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano: $44.99 for adults; $17.99 for children

Minnie’s Seasonal Dining (Hollywood & Vine): $53.99 for adults; $32.99 for children

ETA: It says that Minnie hosts dinner parties. I'm not sure if the pricing for the H&V package is different for lunch.... unless "dinner" starts at 11:00? Perhaps someone else can provide some clarification.

That is disappointing. Guess I shouldn't be looking at Allears anymore if they're THAT far off on prices. Now I really am serving guessing keeping that MM dining package. Paying $45 for my kid to eat a cheese pizza is a bit over the top. Not sure H&V is worth it at that cost either. Maybe we'll try to get a FP+ that day instead. :/

We have a package in April.Just curious is there a separate entrance or do we get into the regular line?

We got into the fast pass line if I remember correctly. As you go into seating area they have dining part roped off and you show your ticket to get into that section separately from where the fast pass people go.

The F! Dining reserved section is in the center section ( sometimes 2 sections). The FP reserved sections are to the left ( as you are looking at the stage area). Standby is to the right of the F! Dining package. Keep your eyes peeled for separate lines for guests with FPs and F! Dining vouchers as you enter the theatre.

we just got back. used the F Pkg on Wed night and still totally worth it (we've done it twice).

We enjoy having a big deal before the show and being able to get center seats for the show without having to rush down after the meal. It's to each their own but most meals can add up close to the "price" for Fantasmic Pkg anyway so to us it's just paying a few bucks more for convenience.

Did you have enough time to see SW fireworks after? That's my fear, missing some of the fireworks because of seeing the first show....

We had more than ample time to get back for the SW fireworks. We even got pretty much front and center for the fireworks. Maybe 3 rows back and not super crowded.

The CM'S were shuffling people to say left to exit and right for the show. You should be fine as we even needed more time to get out stroller and walk back up.
