fantasmic dinner package or hoop dee do?

Fantasmic is a show at DHS and is not a dinner show. You can just go to the show and not eat. However, you can do Famtasmic Dinner package with various restaurants - I believe they are Mama Melrose's and Hollywood and Vine - I could be wrong though.

Famtasmic is also not recommended for small children as it can be quite scary, maybe a no for your 3 yo.

I have never been to Hoop Dee Do. But this year we are trying the Spirit of Aloha Luau.

I wondered about Fantasmic being scary for my 3 year old. Thanks for the ideas

My DD was 3.5 on our first trip. We went to Fantasmic and she wasn't scared at all! I think it will probably depend on the child. She has been watching Pirates of the Caribbean since the same age and was never scared of the skeletons in the Curse of the Black Pearl, sooo...Fantasmic was nothing in comparison! pirate:

Not sure about the Fantasmic Dining Pkg anymore. Now that there isn't a seperate enterance, you still need to get there early. It seems like you have to be at the enterance a good hour before the show in order to get a reserved seat.

We did HDDR last year and was a very fun night! We had good seats on the first floor - and my 2yo loved the pretty girls that would come by and sing and dance with her and my 8yo son and 6yo daughter cracked up at all the corn-ball jokes. Apparently the humor is perfect for that age!! :confused3

We ended up having a great time simply because the kids liked it so much! (and they ate really well there too - so much to see they didn't even realize how much they were eating in the process - which is always good for us.)

Yes they are two totally different things If I was to choose, the HDDR would win everytime and twice on Sunday. Loads of fun for the whole family.

I haven't been to Hoop Dee Do, but we did the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Depending on the time of year, it isn't necessary to do the package to get good seats. I know that when we went (Memorial day last year), we were at the reserved seats and the same seats on the other side were empty when we got there! It was not a good deal for us and we won't do it again.

My little ones weren't afraid really. We had discussed some of the things they would see and said it was all a dream. I also told that at Disney World the good guys ALWAYS win. Bad stuff can't happen to Mickey. My youngest kept saying, "Mickey always wins, right mom?"

Great ideas. Thanks for all the help. We are going to do Hoop Dee Do!! Can't wait!

Fantasmic or hoop dee do musical revue? I have a 6 and 3 year old

You COULD do both. If you will have park admission to DHS that is. Fantasmic is a show and is free (included with park admission) .... it is performed in an outdoor ampitheatre.

Hoop Dee Do is an indoor dinner show. You eat dinner while the performers perform. The price of the show includes dinner and is at the Fort Wilderness Campground, Pioneer Hall.

HDD is a great show for all ages so you made a good choice. The Fantasmic Package has changed over the past few months. In the past, you would eat dinner at Hollywood & Vine, 50's Prime Time Cafe, or The Brown Derby and after your meal, you were given a VIP ticket to the show. There was a separate entrance in the front of the park so you wouldn't have to wait in line for 90+ minutes. Now, its all one entrance for everyone. Here is a link to the F! dinner package thread.
