We have never done the Fantasmic Dinner package and to be honest we haven't actually stuck around for Fantasmic in years. This August we are taking DD19 (who is in a wheelchair) and her cousin for a graduation celebration. Is the section of Fantasmic on the dinner package wheelchair accessible? Would we end up in a different section any way? Any thoughts or ideas is appreciated in advance.

When we were there last September, the wheelchair section was at the top of the Fantasmic section. We actually sat in the Fantasmic seats closest to the wheelchair section and were very impressed at the castmembers keeping that area clear. They were very strict about moving non-wheelchair guests out of the area that was set aside (family of wheelchair guests were allowed to sit together) So not sure you'll actually need the dinner package - you might post this question on the disabilities board to get more info.

The "back entrance" to the Fantasmic Theater that package diners use is basically one big ramp, so getting in there is no problem. As I recall, they lined up wheelchairs and their companions at the top of the Fantasmic reserved seating section (basically off to the side of the wide walkway that runs across the theater).

I do remember seeing cast members greeting guests in wheelchairs at the back entrance and walking with their group to seat them in specific areas, so when in doubt flag down a Cast Member!

The back entrance is no longer used though. Everyone comes in through the main entrance, then once you get close to the top, the line divides for pkg and nonpkg guests. CMs pull wheelchair/ECV users out of the line and seat them in the designated wc areas which are near the top of the theater. We've sat there with my mom, who uses and ECV and thought the seats were very good.

My son is 9 and uses a wheelchair at Disney. We've never done the Fantasmic dinner package because, as other posters have said, the wheelchair seating is at the top of the theater, and the CM's will do a great job of making sure you get a seat. We've arrived just before the show starts and had no trouble getting seats. I wouldn't bother with the package.

Hope that helps!

It's no problem at all. Last time we booked the package, we had my father-in-law with us (confined to a motorized cart). Getting in and out of Hollywood and Vine was a snap, and we had terrific seats where handicapped access (top of the bowl) was no issue at all.

As always - thanks for the awesome and fast replies. There are 4 in our party - if we skip the dinner package will we all still be able to sit together, or should we just do the package so that the half of us not sitting in the handicap areas can still get seats? We just NEVER go during a peak time like August and have never really had to ever have this much of a plan!

I've never really been too fond of the food offering in HS - except maybe 50's Primetime. Are the other restuarants worth the package?

*Take this with a grain of salt as it was about 2 or 3 years ago*

I was in a wheelchair during our trip 2 or 3 years ago and we did the Fantasmic package (just DH and me). They gave my DH grief about sitting with me, but finally let him after a loooong conversation. With 4 in your party, I would recommend doing the dining package, since I don't think it's very likely they'll let all of you sit together in the handicap area.
