Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

Called today to get a FDP at the BD - cast member at reservations was really confused and needed to talk to someone in the background as he made my reservation - was able to get one June 23rd w/o any problem - the CM also told me that Disney 'just made some changes in how the FDP was being run' - I don't buy that one for a minute -

I called today and booked the Fantasmic Dinner Package with dinner at Hollywood and Vine. We are going the 5th-17th of July. The only thing they needed was a credit card to "hold" my reservation. They said I could make my dinner reservations anytime between 3pm and 5:45pm and I would get my vip tickets for the 9:00 Fantasmic Show. Not sure how much in advance you can book the package. I was told 30 days and then another time I was told that I had to do it in person up to 7 days prior to when I wanted the reservation. Not sure what their policy is.....

The "old" policy supposedly expired on June 30, and Disney wasn't sure what they were going to do for F!DP staring July 1. That wasn't good news, considering I wanted a July 1 PS for the F!DP. During June, WDW dining told me to call at the end of June. I did, and I booked a July 1 F!DP PS for B&D...no problem. If at first you don't succeed.......

I know how you feel, Commando, as I want one for August 1st. Should I just get PS reservations?

I am thinking way ahead here, but we are going in December, when can I book a PS at BD , and should I do this with the hope of changing it to a fantasmic package later?

After you cancel a PS it becomes available as of 12 a.m on the computer system which means it will be available to be booked the very next morning.
We have been to WDW 2 times in Dec " from the day before christmas to a day after new year " and never had a problem booking fantasmic at BD. If you are staying at any conceirge level hotel send them a note with all your other ps wishes and they will arrange it for you. By the way one thing we really enjoyed doing was to go to fantasmic first and have dinner after when you and your fellow diners are the only non CM in the park and you can take your time enjoying your food without losing valuable park hours.

Are you saying that if one holds a PS for a certain time, it cannot just be changed into the dinner package but must be released into the system first? That's rather ridiculous.

Hi everyone! Just an FYI you can now book 60 days out for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the heads up. I will call for August 1 now. There was some computer difficulty initially but I was able to book for August first. Not too much availability for times, though.

clp100, my advice (for whatever it's worth) is to go ahead now and make a PS for the restaurant you want the F!DP for and start calling toward the end of June for the F!DP PS. If, for some reason, you don't get the F!DP, you can always cancel the PS if you don't want it. Also keep watching this board, someone likely will post when they get an August PS for the F!DP. It worked for me -- I hope it works for you. Good luck!

Thanks Commando. I booked it yesterday. August first was available for F!DP

Really? WDW is booking F!DP for August? Well, I'm sure that is good information for those in situations like yours. Glad it worked out for you.

I'm interested in the Brown Derby package for July. Can someone please tell me the basics:

1. What does it cost for an adult and and 11 yr old?
2. What can you order off the menu?
3. What times can your ressie be?
4. Are the seats good?
5. How early do you need to get to the show?

THANKS!

I called yesterday and talked with a great CM. She said I could reserve the F!DP 60 DAYS OUT. Since I am going Aug 11-18, I have to wait a few days.

She was nice enough to describe it all, give me prices, menu options, etc.

I can't wait!

When we did the DB/Fantasmic pkg in May we were not restricted by any special menus. We ordered off the regular menu and billed accordingly (it's not the cheapest place to eat but we love their service and food). The seats reserved for the pkg when we went were the last two sections on the right hand side of the theatre and we arrived about 1/2 hour before showtime and got great seats (although the theatre was not totally packed that night anyway). I would caution you though, unless you want to get wet, sit near the middle to upper section of seats. We were near the bottom and I have water splashes on most of my photos from the spray on my camera lense. I believe the DB starts their dinner seatings at 4:00pm. We were one of the first PS's for dinner and had time for TOT and RNRC before going to the show. We weren't rushed at all which was kind of nice. The walk to the theatre is pretty long so give yourself lots of time.

I read this on anther board yesterday. Seems WDW Dining has dropped the rolling month-to-month and will now go with a staight 60 day PS policy.

I haven't fully confirmed this so if anybody else has talked with WDW recently at FDP and got this information, PM or email me.

Thanks!!

Called today (60 days out) and got a 6pm PS for Hollywood & Wine Fantasmic Dinner Package. $19.99 for Adults and $9.99 for kids. No problem. Nice CM service!:Pinkbounc

Is this a buffet? And does this price include tax and/or tip? I'm trying to budget my trip and will be calling later in the week... thanks!

Hi, there are 3 different restaurants to choose from for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Hollywood and Vine is by far the cheapest, and is a buffet. It was $21.28 per adult and $10.64 per child. The other 2 restauants were sit down and were in the mid $30.00 range for adults. I can't remember exactly what the kids prices were, but they were pricy. I have heard the food is great, but since there are 5 of us, we choose the buffet at Hollywood and Vine. Since it is a buffet, I don't think a tip is required because I think you serve yourself everything. Hope this helps. :)
