Yes, we had our choice of any dessert. I ordered the warm sugar-free apple and cranberry crisp, my fiancé had the white chocolate cheesecake with a sorcerer's hat and ears made out of chocolate, and my mom had the double vanilla bean crème brûlée. This was when we had the FDP on 12/29/02. Not only did our waiter tell us about every dessert and allow us to order any of them, but we asked the hosts at the front podium all about the FDP menu while we were waiting and they too said would could order anything we wanted for appetizer, entree, and dessert. They did point out the the Cobb Salad would count as 2 appetizers if we ordered it, but other than that we could each pick one. We had a 4:45 PS for the 6:30 show, but had to wait 45 minutes for a table so we decided we should all know what we wanted to order before we sat down to speed up the meal, which was why we asked the hosts so much about the menu. So we asked lots of questions since I had read on boards how there was a set menu and stuff and we didn't want to plan to eat one thing, then be forced to get another, but we were able to choose anything we wanted. Don't know if it was a fluke, or if they changed the dessert options that day, since as we all know nothing is ever the same in WDW. All the desserts we had though were great!
(As a side note, WDW dining called us at home after we left for WDW to change the PS time to 4:20, as they said this was now the latest time and whoever booked us had made a mistake, but since we were not home we never got the message and showed up at 4:40, as scheduled. We did get to Fantasmic minutes before it started, but they kept the area roped off from the general public until after we were in and the manager of the restaurant walked us over and personally helped us get seats since we otherwise would have had bad seats as a result of a WDW dining error.)
