Fantasmic Dinner and a Show ??

We are doing the Dinner and Show thing for Fantasmic on 8/27...can someone tell me how it works? The CM I talked to made it sound really easy, but I want to make sure we get it right! We are eating EARLY (4pm) and the first show isn't until 8:30. Has anyone had a similar issue or question? Even though we have a voucher how early do we need to show up at Fantasmic to still get a seat? Is it guarenteed? TIA

well, while it's not actually guaranteed, it's not something i'd entirely worry about.

first, it's not unusual to have an early dining time. they do that. if you check back 28 or 21 days out or so, more conventional dining times might be available.

you'll be told to show up at oscar's (the gas station like place where strollers and wheelchairs are rented at the front of the park) about half an hour prior to showtime. you'll then take an alternative entrance into the show area and go to a special section reserved for the FDP diners, which is actually the rightmost section. seating is first come first serve.

Also, your server at the restaurant will give you a piece of paper that you will need to give to the person at the entrance to fantasmic (it proves that you are doing the fantasmic package). If you are not sure where to go, be sure to ask your server, they will explain it for you. We did the package for the first time last year and everything went fine.......except that fantasmic was RAINED OUT!!!!!

We are going to try again this year!!

About the latest you can get Fantasmic packages is 4:30 (maybe 5 but not even sure about that). They want to make sure you have plenty of time to eat and enjoy your dinner, and you will have to walk back to the front of the park to Oscar's from the restaurant...there's a special gate there for package holders. You'll have to show the card they give you at the restaurant to get through the fence.

Now you get to walk a long ways backstage to get to the amphitheater. So it does take time, and they tell you to be there 45 minutes (something like that forgot exactly how long) and you need to do that to make sure you get seated... at a certain time before the show they start letting people into the reserved section.

The seats themselves are not reserved...they're bench seats and they just rope off a section for dinner package guests.

You should head to the special Fantasmic package entrance (near Oscar's, near the park entrance) by 7:45p at the latest.

The package seats are to the far right.

The special Fantasmic package entrance is a long, up hill walk.

The seats in that section are first come, first served.

They are no longer guaranteed after 30 minutes before the show. At that point they can, and sometimes do, open it up to the general public.

I don't mean to hijack anyone's thread, but I have a question about the seating...If you have the package, but want to sit elsewhere other than the roped off area, are you free to do so, or do you have to sit somewhere in that section?

No, you do not have to sit there.

One year (the last year I did the package after realizing it wasn't necessary in the off season), we just entered the main entrance and sat right in the middle, half way back. We saved our voucher as a souvenir.

Or you could enter the special package entrance and then sit where you want to.
