I know this has been asked...I just can't find the answer and need to know...

Can you use the dining plan credits for the Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose

The answer is yes. However, you need to use your credit card to secure your booking (and if you cancel less than 24 hrs prior your card will be charged $10 per /person), also check your cc to make sure you are not charged ahead of time, just stress that you are on the dining plan. We did the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg at Mama Melrose (our TA booked this for us using our cc to hold the AR) in Aug with the free dining package. The food was great and the seats at Fantasmic were also good.

we were told "NO" even though we secured our deposit w/a credit card... i think this is another of those "it depends on the cm" issue...

I was able to secure the Fantasmic package and the Candlelight processional package w/ the dining plan for our Dec. trip. I called just this past Sunday and the cm said that it was a very recent change. You do have to hold w/ a credit card, but you are only charged if you don't show up.

gigi, there should be no difference between free and paid MYW dining. They just recently changed the rules for this - probably within the last 2-3 weeks. Maybe less? It used to be that you could NOT use dining credits for the FDP, but you are now allowed - it should not depend on the CM.

So if you are interested, I would definately give it another try! We secured PS for the FDP last week (with free dining! ) after trying to get it for our date for a week or so.

Yes, they've recently changed the rules and in trying to schedule it and also reschedule it for later times, I've talked to 3 CM's and all three told me that it's not on the dining plan. I told them that it was, it had recently changed, and each time when they checked, they said I was right, that they didn't know about the change. So call back and tell them that you know it was just changed and have them check with someone else, then they can book it for you!

ahah! the rule was changed after i returned (we've been back two weeks now) and significantly after i made my ps/adr... could be why we were told no! and fortunately, it was a non-event 'cause we enjoyed a meal at Mama Melrose and got to the theatre 1/2 hour before the show and got perfect middle of the stage seats! could not have asked for better! (and they were definitely superior to the seats we had w/the FDP the year before -- then we were placed alllll the way to the side of the stage... a bit disappointing)

thanks for the new info... we're heading back down in january w/another family who has never been, and we'll be on the dining package, so i will probably recommend H&V FDP!
