Fantasmic dining package with Mama Melrose's...

Yes or No and why... We have the dining package so would be using 1 table service credit.

I did this last year when it still included the appetizer. I chose MM because it was the only 1C at Hollywood Studios that I was interested in.

Waited a while (maybe 30 minutes?) past my ADR time. The waiting area is very tight and it was fairly uncomfortable.

Ordered Caesar salad and the fish. They were both fine. You don't get to choose a dessert, it's a sampler type thing. Nothing stood out one way or another.

Service was very good. All in all it was your typical Disney park meal.

I entered the FDP seating area at the latest legal time. I was solo which made it easier but I had a center seat just outside the splash zone.

I did choose to book Mama Melrose again for my upcoming trip. None of the other 1C restaurants (on or off the Dining Package) appeal and I loved the Fantasmic seating. When I don't have the Dining Plan I prefer Brown Derby or Brown Derby Lounge.

I think if you're on the DDP and plan to see Fantasmic it's a great value. One credit for a lot of decent food, and prime seating for the show. We did it for lunch last year, and were so stuffed that we ended up skipping dinner. And the seating for Fantasmic is the center section - or at least it was last year! Well worth it IMO.

Just in case you missed it in the first post: you no longer get an app with this dining package; it is entree, dessert sampler, and drink only. HOWEVER, reports are you do get your alcoholic drink when using the DDP.

Mama Melrose food was ok, but the service was awful. We have tried lots of Disney restaurants on recent trips, and this was the only one to top 3 hours! We did request the two of our six dishes be remade because they were served cold and congealed (they had to have been waiting 40+ minutes before being served). The new dishes were 1000x better and among the best we have eaten at WDW. Overall, food was okay, but not worth the ridiculously long wait, and don't be afraid to send your order back if necessary.
