Can anyone tell me if the DDE card is accepted at Hollywood and Vine for the fantasmic package? Thanks liammom :earsgirl: pirate:

It is not officially accepted for the FDP. BUT...you can be darn sure that WLL will have hers out and will politely ask when the check is presented! Wish me luck!

Although Disney Dining says no, many have had sucess getting the waiter or waitress to give them the discount.

And now that they are allowing people with the dining package use their credits on the package, I'm sure going to feel better about asking for my 20% discount! I'm certainly going to give it a try too.

How can you possibly get the discount on the Fantasic Dinner Package. Isn't it paid for in advance when you make your reservations?

Nope, it's not paid for in advance. They do take a CC though for no shows...they will charge your CC if you do not show up $10 per person. I think they give you 48 hours to cancel.

I've done the package 3 times now and I've always paid when I got the bill at the end of the meal...I've just never had the DDE card before.

Hum, it's been a long time since I booked the Fantasmic Package. I booked it for Thanksgiving week. I guess I just assumed that they would be booking my credit card in advance. Thanks for the info.

When I went in January I didn't even think about it and just handed the Hollywood & Vine waiter the DDE letter (didn't have the card yet, just the verification e-mail). He accepted it without question. It wasn't until we got back that I read reports that it was accepted only sporadically. When I went back in May I decided to just act dumb, and just handed it to the waiter at Mama Melrose. He told me they didn't accept any discount for the Fantasmic Pkg, so I round up paying cash for it. No biggie, since I was prepared for it either way.

I have no idea what fantasmic is other than that it's a show and you do dinner or not do dinner. I know what the prices for dinner are. I assume that the cost of the show is extra? Can anyone tell me what the prices are or where I could find them? TIA

It's a free show! You only have to pay for dinner IF you choose to do the package.

So the show is free then? You just have to make reservations for seating right?

You only make a reservation for the Fantasmic Package IF you want to. If you want to be guaranteed a seat for the show and not have to wait in the Fantasmic line.

If you eat in one of the three restaurants, after dinner they give you a voucher to enter the Fantasmic show at a special entrance.

But you can see the show without eating dinner. You would just go in the regular line.

If you want the package, then you can just call and book it.

Is this a fact? Can you use your credits? And is it still just one credit per person?

Thanks.

We have done the fantasmic package several times- for us it saves time and we like Hollywood & Vine. We always make it a point to ask our server if they take the DDE card. They usually say no but sometimes say yes! We have found no ryhme or reason to this- we have only noticed that they have taken it when we have ordered bar drinks. The official policy is they do not take it.

I just called to get my dining pkg ADR for Hollywood & Vine changed to a Fantasmic Pkg. The CM at first said no you could not use MYW dininng for the Fantasmic Pkg. I asked her to double check, she did, came back and said 'you were correct'. Instead of Hollywood and Vine we booked Mama Melrose for 5:10pm on 09/19/05. Now I've just got to tell my D-I-L I switched us to MM. I don't think she'll care though and personally I think the food is better at MM anyway. Fantasmic is at 8:00pm that night and our Hollywood and Vine ADR was for 6:00pm, so I think we probably would have had a hard time finding a good seat without the pkg anyway.

While I had the CM on the phone I asked her about using the DDE card for the Fantasmic Pkg for my Dec trip and she immediately said no, then laughed and said let me make sure they haven't changed that on me. She came back a few minutes later and verified that it had not changed and that 'officially' the DDE card was not to be accepted.
