Fantasmic Dining Package

How far in advance can you make reservations for the dining package? I noticed on Disney's site that it's only going out 4 months versus the usual 180 days for standard dining reservations.

Does anyone know?

Ok, so this can only be done via phone and not online I assume since I couldn't see any dates August.

There are lots of people who say that they've been able to make the reservation online but I'm not one of them. I called and got the date that I wanted so I second the idea of calling.

The trick on the Disney website is to know in advance which days Fantasmic is showing on the months that are not showing up (this is a glitch in the Fantasmic booking system...those months show up for everything else) Anyway, check at the wdwinfo.com page for fireworks schedule to see when Fantasmic will be going on 5 & 6 months out:

Once you know what date you want, go to the Disney site and choose Dining Events on Where To Eat, then scroll down to Fantasmic section and click on Make a Reservation. When that comes up, in stead of clicking on the calendar and trying to select a date, type in the date, using this format: 00/00/0000...so if you wanted Sept. 4, 2011, you would type 09/04/2011. And then click lunch or dinner, your preference, and put in party size you want. The restaurants available will show up. I actually just tried 9/4, which is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and there are still several choices still available for a party of 4 at 2 of the 3 restaurants even though it is way less than 6 months out. So I think this glitch in their system (not showing 5 & 6th month out) is maybe keeping the bookings lower than normal.

As julie stated it doesn't work. Once you click out of the date box it resets it to the current date.

Guess calling might be the best bet to get it early.

this does work....for most dates. I just checked October 9, and it shows availability at 3pm for all 3 restaurants. However, October 13, which is now 178 days out and should be available, just reverts back to today's date.

Ok, I see. Don't use Firefox 4 because it resets the date when you click out of the box but works fine in Internet Explorer 8.

booked yesterday Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package for Oct 20th. and yes it helped that I already knew the fantasmic schedule. got a nice ressie time too 4:55pm. the longer you wait the earlier you have to eat. in years past we were stuck eating at 3:20pm and 3:40pm

At Disneyworld.com point at "Where to eat" in the drop down click on "make dining reservation", click on "dining event" click on the box "select an event" and choose "Fantasmic! Dinner Package"

Now you can choose restaurant, and the dates for Fantasmic will show up in the calendar.

I just tried this for Oct 13 and it worked great! Thanks for the tip I make my reservations on the coming Friday
