Anyone have any thoughts on this? We have the dining plan. Do we need to spend the extra money for the package dining in order to get a decent seat for Fantasmic at 6:00 pm. From what I hear the crowds are not too bad at this time of year, but I don't know what Fantasmic is like as far as crowds. Any advice is appreciated. :goodvibes

I'd like to know as well. We're hoping to see Fantasmic on 12/2 and have made ressies at Mama Melrose for 5:00 because the dining package doesn't include this Fantasmic package.

Also, how do you know the Fantasmic show starts at 6 p.m? I asked today when I made my ADRS and was told the schedule wasn't out yet. I picked 5:00 thinking the show would be either 7 or 7:30. I'd love to know because maybe I need to change mine?

TIA. Brenda

I read about the show time on the sticky thread (?) on this forum. Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes. Hope this helps.

Memory tells me that MGM is generally open until 7:00 during early December, with Fantasmic showing at 7:00.

On a nice day, it might not be quite dark enough for Fantasmic at 6:00. I can't remember when it gets truly dark in December.

If you check out this link -

you will see last year's December Fantasmic show times, but who knows what this year's will be. It is also my understanding that they have not released the December 2005 operating hours schedule yet, but I am going to place my bet on a 7 p.m. showing during the first part of December. We are going 12/14 - 12/18 and I am as baffled as both of you. I am currently booked for the dining plan, but may cancel it as I really want to make sure we can get into Fantasmic and I really can't see shelling out even more money for the show and potentially having unused dining credits at the end of our stay. I really don't understand why FDP isn't on the plan, particularly since they just included the Candlelight Processional.

Okay, so if I assume the show is at 7 (I know it won't be if I assume it will be :rotfl: ) but... for those who have been, do you think a 5:00 at Mama Melrose is appropriate? I'm thinking 1 hour or maybe another 15 minutes or so for dinner, don't know how long to walk there but let's say 10 minutes, so we should arrive 30-40 minutes before the show. Whadda ya think??

godwin1995,

We paid for the package out of pocket and used those TS credits to visit one of the signature places.( that take 2 TS credits for a meal)

Brenda, We just returned, the Fantasmics show was at 9 , our ressie was at 5. That wasn't a problem for us at all. We just had our dinner and continued our activities until time for the show.

We headed for the secret entrance about 45 min before showtime and had our pick of the reserved seating section upon arrival.

Ejnoy the show....it's a blast!!!

Mike
