Have any of you girls had one of these? I was all set on having a Wishes DP at Sago Cay (I don't like Illuminations, and I refuse to pay a viewing fee on principle), but when I saw that you could do Fantasmic parties, I think my heart skipped a beat! But, are they any good? What are the menus like? And can you only book it 6 months out because the F! schedules only come out 6 months in advance?

Thank you! :)

The DP meus are pretty much the same, or you can build your own from the DP menus you've seen on Magical kingdoms.

I looked into it and have seen pictures that Lurkyloo has posted (not a wedding DP though, just a private party), they looked great but the viewing fees just made it out of my price range. The good thing is that you don't need to provide transportation because you can instead provide a guide to pick up your group and have them escorted to the DP location.

I've read a few places that Fantasmic is awesome!

I have to ask what your principle is against viewing fees?

I think one of the reasons most of us haven't gone for a Fantasmic DP is that it can get cancelled due to weather but Illuminations & Wishes are hardly ever cancelled. Plus its not on every night.

We had our heart set on a Fantasmic dessert party, and our consultant talked us out of it. The reason was because they can not guarantee what time Fantasmic will be shown, if it will be shown at all. The schedules can change by the day (based on projected crowds), and since it is part of our wedding "event", we didn't want to take any chances. If Fantasmic was not scheduled for that day, chances are you may not be able to find availability for any other dessert party.

Also, Fantasmic is subject to rain/weather, because of the actors. Illuminations is not, and that is what we chose to have (rather be safe than sorry).

Hope this helps.

Ohh that does help! In my excitement, I forgot about Fantasmic being cancelled! Ho hum. Sago Cay is more budget friendly anyway. :)

And while I -understand- viewing fees, I just... I don't know! They irk me! But to each his own. :)

We did a Fantasmic dessert party as a welcome party and LOVED it. Many of our guests remarked that it was their favorite night in the parks. It did rain the night of our dp, but our planner was on top of it. We moved the dessert to the hollywood hideaway There were two Fantasmics that night (we had booked the earlier one), we were told that if ours got cancelled we could have the second one. Ours did not get cancelled and they had people wipe down all the chairs and we were good to go. I suppose a lot of it depends on the season you go in regards to the weather and the number of shows.
