I can plan a WDW trip with my eyes closed and navigate through any park there without a map but we are going to DL in Oct 05 for the first time and I just read about the Fantasmic Buffet on another site, it did not give many details....can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

We just did the Balcony Buffet on our last visit and it was a blast!! It is pricey - $49/per person and no discounted price for kids. It is the balcony by Disney Gallery and only seats about 21 people. You get a great dessert buffet - I remember Black Forest Cake, Cheesecake, a Chocolate Cake, some sort of warm apple thing, cheese and fruit and drinks - Lemondae, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, etc. The seats were unbeatable - directly across from Fantasmic! so you were front and center! There is also reserved seating at ground level a little more towards the side. The adult price is the same, but they do give a discount for kids (sorry, don't know what it is). They give everyone a box of desserts - I believe they include rice krispy treats, Mickey shaped cookies and a few other things. To get reservations, you have to call 30 days in advance of when you want to go (no sooner) and call right at 8 am - shows sell out fast - especially the 9 pm showing because you get to stay on the balcony to watch the fireworks. The number for information and reservations is 714-781-4400.

Enjoy!

Leigh123: I cannot say enough how great the dessert buffet on the balcony is! We have done it twice and it is our best DL memory of all. The desserts are very good and they make you feel very pampered! There are two rows of seats so it is best if you get front row but the second row is fine too. If you are in the second row, you can always stand up or have your kids stand up. Still very much worth it. Your credit card will be charged when you book this package and I believe it is non refundable. There is a thread on this site dedicated to this thing that will give you a lot of info. I would go for it if you don't mind spending the money!

We booked the riverside view last June and were a little disappointed...... in the food - not the view! It sounds like you get better desserts up in the balcony.
