HI,

I am wondering which seating is better for fantasmic Balcony or River? I may splurge and go next month with my 8 year old. Which is best for both the show and the fireworks after? If you get balcony and are kinda back can you stand up and walk over or would you be invading someones "space"

thanks

Hi. Each seating area has its advantanges. The balcony gets you a pretty unobstructed view of the whole performance and if you are in the back rows you can stand up. Gosh.. one time we were there with a group of 10 while they had the front row seats, they spent the entire time standing in the back near the dessert tables during the performance. I didn't think you had as good of a view of the fireworks from that location.

Riverside, you have a very upclose view and may not be able to see all the action on the far side of the show (near frontierland) as it is happening, but that was forgotten by having the feeling like you can just reachout and touch the action.

Both areas would be good for an 8 year old. Balcony is much more difficult to obtain (sells out minutes after going on sale) and so dont be disappointed if you can only get riverside.

We have done the balcony about 10 times since it's conception and just did the riverside this past month for the first time. I think I like the riverside much more now.

So you buy tickets for better viewing? Is it a meal type ticket? Thanks

IMHO I think that the riverside seating has a much better view of the fireworks...

It is a special event ticket. You call disney dining 30 days out to make a reservation for Fantasmic premumin seating. Balcony sells out quickly within minutes of going on sale. The riverside, even on a busytime we found availability the next day.

Cost is $59/person for both ($49/child for Riverside, but no discount for the balcony seating). Very pricey, but you don't have to stake out a spot hours in advance and you don't have to stand and worry about others in your view.

Called 8:45 this morning for next month/ both were sold out. I took my son to school and forgot about it until it was too late. I'm thinking it sold out quickly becasue of the POTC quest for gold.

To have a chance of getting the balcony tickets. you need to start calling 2 minutes before 8am and keep redialing until they answer. If you have a cell phone, use both and just keep hitting redial on both. One line might answer first and put you on hold and the other may answer direct and take your order. I've heard of whole families calling together from multiple phones at the same place so this is what you are up against! When you get a CM on the line speak quickly and clearly stating 4 tickets for the fantasmic balcony on ___ date and what show time! Don't fool around with pleasantries like "how are you today" or someone who speaks quicker will get the front row-lol!! Seriously, I believe that VP for the hotels usually gets the front row so if you are staying at one of the resort hotels, use them to get the tickets.

Hey call back again a couple times over the next day or so! I hear sometimes, people cancel because they decide against going, or whatever! You might still be able to get tickets!

My personal favorite is riverside, only because I haven't experienced balcony. The view of the fireworks afterward was fabulous. That made riverside much more valuable to me. I wanted to see Tink take her famous flight at DL!!
