Fantasmic at end of January - dining package?

We are going to Disney at the end of January. We plan on doing HS on Wednesday, January 31st. I like the option of the Fantasmic Dining package, but to be honest, I don't like the restaurants. I'd prefer to eat at Sci Fi Dine In for our table service meal that day. But, I love Fantasmic and our youngest has been to Disney since he was 2. I want to make sure we get a decent seat. I did debate about the dessert party, but that really sounds like a money grab for a "free" show. Sigh...thoughts on the dining package vs. trying to snag a last minute fast pass or just do standby seating? It won't be crowded that day, but still, it's a very popular show so I'm thinking standby would be a bad idea.

Given all that you've outlined (and since you understand the nuances), I'm not sure what will move you closer to a decision.

If we want 'good seats' we either Dining Package or Dessert Party.
