We just booked a Fantasmic Dinner package at Mama Melrose for 3:45 in late September (on a very low crowd day - Monday, 9/26). Fantasmic is supposedly scheduled for 8pm. If we have tickets from the dinner package, how early do we have to get to the show?

For better seating choices, no later than 45 minutes before show-time.

I booked the dinner package at Mama Melrose's a couple years ago and arrived 45 minutes early - but we sat (mostly) alone for at least another 15 minutes once we were allowed in. The reserved section didn't really fill up til about 10 minutes before show time.
EDIT: my trip was in late February if that makes a difference - park crowds were low/moderate

45min-1 hour prior to show time for best choice of seats. During busy days it's not uncommon for that section to be filled nearly full 30 min prior

Are you allowed to hold seats? Like, say two members of our party wanted to ride RocknRoller Coaster with a FP while the rest of us got there 45 minutes early. Would that be allowed?

Yea you can hold seats for 2 people. Just a few people is fine. I wouldn't try to hold seats for a huge group or anything

We will be there on the 26th, too! With a Fantasmic package at H&V. We will be doing the wave together.

Honestly, I am not expecting very low crowds. We were there last September and went on highly and most recommended days and it was a madhouse all week. Our July trip was less crowded.

ADRs are already filling up, as are resorts. Unless they don't offer free dining (and perhaps even if), I wouldn't get my hopes up about very low crowds. If it happens- great! Bonus. But prepare yourself for crowds.

We do the package every trip and always arrive 30 minutes before the show. We always get seats. If you don't care where you sit, 30 minutes is good. If you want a specific seat, then arrive earlier.

I would say 30 minutes. The seating area gets very crowded very quickly.

We got there about 30 mins early last March for the 8pm show and got good seats for our family of 4 in the reserved section. BTW we also had lunch a MM that day and I still have fond memories of the tuna appetizer :)
