Fantasmic and Evening EMH

I did a search but couldn't seem to find what I was looking for. We're planning two half days at DHS on our upcoming trip. We are interested in seeing Fantasmic but with three small children we're unsure whether they can stay up that late, their normal bedtime is 7pm and the show is at 9pm. We're debating which night to try it and I was hoping to get some input from those who have done this as we have never seen the DHS version, only the Disneyland one.

We can either do it on a Evening EMH night or a regular night. I currently have Fantasmic dining booked for both days. My thought process is that if we do it on a EMH night it may not take so long to get back to our resort because we would be leaving right after and most people would be staying. Is that what usually happens or does it really not matter what night we go because we will be waiting for a long time for buses no matter what? We're going to be staying in the MK area so walking back to our resort wont be an option.

In early/mid May, DHS is generally open until 8:30 or 9 pm with a single Fantasmic at 9. Evening EMH will be 9-11 pm.

Because they overlap, most onsite guests that attend EMH will choose to take advantage of the full 2 extra hours of ride time and attend Fantasmic on a different night. This means you won't see a noticeable difference in the size of the crowd hitting the exit right after the show. The ampitheater will be packed both nights.

We prefer summer hours for Fantasmic as the parks are open later and the show is performed twice each evening. The 2nd show is much less crowded and we can leave the park at a more leasurely pace.

I hope your kids can stay up late enough to enjoy the show as it's one of the best anywhere in the complex.

Maybe head back to the resort around late noon and possibly get the kiddos to take a late afternoon nap, it might help to keep them awake for the show.
