Have anyone use a fannypack with water bottle?( Sinlge)
I was wondering was it to heavy? Did it bother your back?
I was thinking buying 2, 1 for me and 1 for my DD, she 12. I know my hubby won't wear one.

Coleman has one for children...has anyone bought 1 for child 5yrs old?
I was thinking it might be to heavy for a little kid....
Any info would be great!!!

I bought the Coleman with water bottle for my kids 7 and 9, but we haven't used them yet. They are cute though, and I think they'd be fine for a 5 YO.

I also bought DH fanny packs with water bottle holders for about $5.00 each. I'm trying to think of the website. If I can remember, I'll post back.

I have used the packs with two waterbottle holders (one on each side of the pack). They were not too cumbersome and really carried everything well. I was going to get the kids ones, but I always end up carrying everything anyway, so I figured just get two of the doubles one for me and one for DH. The kids also carried bottles on the neck lanyards sometimes. The extra space worked well for a misting fan as well.

I have the two water bottle fanny pack from Target. I carry one bottled drink and use the other space to hold the camera. Works great for me!

We have the Coleman for kids fanny packs (bought them at Target). They are good because the pouch is kid-sized, but it is big enought for an autograph book & pen, some snacks and maybe even a small toy or two. However, the 8yo's fit fine (as tight as it would go), and for the 6yo it was too big around the waist, so we had to tie a knot in the waistband.

As for the water bottles, we did not use them because they would not stay in. The pack has a piece of elastic that is supposed to hold in the 'shoulder' of the bottle, but instead we found the elastic was too loose. So either the bottle would come out when the kids sat down because it got pushed up and out...or we had to twist the elastic strap around the neck of the bottle, and then the kids had a hard time getting the darned bottle out. A couple of times, the bottles even slipped down through the open bottom.

All in all, we really like the Coleman for Kids fanny packs, and our friends who borrowed them really liked them, too. We just don't use the water bottles with them.

We always take water bottles & fanny packs, but when we've been with friends with kids, the packs seem to cause more trouble than they're worth. A suggestion either way: consider the Brita filtered water bottle. We read about these here before our last trip. We've always kind of gagged on Orlando water. What a neat thing the Brita is. They run about eight bucks at WalMart, although I've heard of them being on sale elsewhere. They look and weigh the same as any other water bottle, but have a replaceable filter that sits inside. It makes the water taste better, in my opinion.

I picked up a belly pack that would hold two water bottles, but before I used it, I decided that it would be too bulky around my waist for my tastes (I also thought with all that bulk at my waist, it would be really hot and sweaty...we went in August). I ended up using a smaller belly pack, and also used a small backpack. Then I used insulated bottle carriers with a clip attached to them. You could carry those on a lanyard around your neck, but I clipped them onto the bottom of the backpack straps (attach a ring on the strap, if needed). We could take a quick sip without unclipping them, or unsnap them and drink from them. They just kind of bounced off my hip and I found them less restrictive than I think the belly pack carrier would be. Also, when stowing your items in the small spaces on some of the rides, you had more flexibility to move the (still attached) bottles around to fit the storage space better.

I've purchased two leather fanny packs that have a bottle
holder ( for Brita bottle ) and pouch for cam. for daughter
and I at PriceHot .com. They have a big selection of fanny
packs at a great price.
