Does anyone have any recommendations on the best kind of "fanny pack" to bring to Disney? We are bringing a backpack for snacks, camera, etc but we each wanted a pack to carry our money, passes, etc.

Thanks!!

I found one at a thrift store for 99 cents! It looks brand new and has one big zipper pocket and one smaller one.

I bought a black Mickey Mouse fanny pack on our first trip in 2000. It is still holding up really well. It has a hidden pocket in back, a small pocket in front and a LARGE middle area. I put my camera, tickets, money, inhaler, credit cards, Kleenex, Tylenol etc.. in there. It was worth the $15 (I think back then) and I don't think it has gone up much since then.

I have a Disneyland fanny pack that sounds like the Mickey one above. It's not huge, which is great. I can fit everything I need in it. I used to use a backpack but this is so much more comfortable. At WDW, we put our backpack with stuff we might need in a locker for the day.

I used a basic leather fanny pack and loved mine...It has a small zipper in the front for my keys to the world and a big zipper pocket that help my wallet, camera and misc. items. I loved using it...just think ahead of what you plan on putting in it and you should be fine when you pick one out...

Thanks for all the ideas!

This board is so great! I have learned so many great tips.

make sure the interior pocket is waterproof. You'll be happy to have that! LOL

I agree on getting one at the parks. I'm using a splash mountain one from 2002 and it still looks brand new. And it doubles as a souvenir too! :thumbsup2

That was too funny!!!!! And the main reason why I have never worn a fanny pack!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well I'm a plus size person but I got mine at Walmart, I think I paid 10.00 for it. It's just right . :rolleyes1

Edited to say I just watched that video...how funny was that...I loved it...that is so so true...that's so cute.

yeah. i'd never wear fanny pack because some guy made a parody about it.

No, I dont like them because of the way they look. Even when they were in style (late 80's) I hated them. I'm allowed my opinion, sorry if you dont approve.:)

That was so funny and I just had to laugh, but I am still wearing mine. With four kids, it is just easier for me. I had a basic one from Walmart, but two years ago I got the Disney one. I figure I might as well wear the Disney one if I am going to wear a fanny pack. I don't feel weird, because there are a few 1,000 others at Disney wearing one. Last year I brought my sister who is 18, and she was mortified that I would wear a fanny pack. I guess it works for me so that's what I like.

Can we call it a "hip pack" for us guys that wear them...? I mean, who wears them on thier fanny? :confused3

To be serious, I wear one at the parks. I bought it at a Dicks sporting goods store, cost me around $20.00. I have worn them for a long time because I am a diabetic and do not like to wear backpacks. Mine is a Swiss Army brand hip pack. It has three pockets (one front, middle, back). The middle pocket is waterproof. This is the best one I've ever had. It can hold my glucose meter, insulins, wallet, point and shoot digital camera, cell phones, and two Disney ponchos. If I take out the ponchos, I can carry my wifes Canon XTi.

I just have a disneyland one that has a large pocket and then a smaller one. But I wouldn't mind having one that is a bit bigger with a waterproof pocket. I may look into that before our next trip.

I only wear mine to theme parks and the zoo.

To me disney has dress code all to itself...when else can a grown person wear funny hats, homemade t-shirts, socks with crocs, and fanny packs and fit right in....you got to love it !:grouphug:
