Fanny Packs/child harness

Too late for me, I already ordered a small fannypack with leash on it for my wandering toddler. Today, while researching packs for my older kids, I found the following link. Evidently, the mother's fanny pack is connected to the child's, and I thought "what a great idea!

we used one with a leash that you hold in your hand, and it worked a treat, but that one worried me a little as I think you might bump into people who tried to walk between you if you can go 5 feet apart.
