In "real life" (aka life outside of our Disney vacations), I loathe fanny packs. Just the sight of them makes me cringe a bit. :headache: However, I find them to be beyond useful for our trips to Disney. My husband and I don't wear them, but we do have the kids wear them, so they can store a juice box and a few snacks in them. We have found it easier this way than digging through the backpack/stroller everytime someone needs something.

Anyone else fans of the fanny pack when trecking through the parks? FANNY PACK USERS UNITE! :rotfl2: Anything else I should be putting in them to make things easier?

I received a lot of flack for a visible fanny pack in photos on my 2005 trip. Don't care, that thing worked great! Thanks for the idea about the kids, going to do that this trip!

I haven't yet, but will be using a fanny pack for each one of my kids. I think it's important for them to be responsible for their own items, and that mommy and daddy are not pack mules! Bringing in 5 back packs is insanity, so this is a great option. They will have easy access to the things they'll use frequently like their pressed penny money, pens for autographs, and if it comes to it, their park bracelets. There's no need to ever take them off...to me, it just makes good sense.

Tacky? Of course. Functional? Absolutely. Will I be wearing one? You couldn't pay me to. :rotfl:

LOL Tyger! Seriously, they are the best when trekking around the parks. Hubby will not wear one and I don't really have to wear one since my drink is usually very accessible in the stroller cup holder. I'm not sure how my 11 year old son will feel about wearing one this trip since he thinks somethings are just "SO AWKWARD"! Ugh. But, perhaps I'll just pull the "well, you are going to be awfully hungry and thirsty if you don't have a fannypack around your waist filled with goodies." Heehee-evil mom tricks.

I agree with Jerry Seinfeld......"It looks like your belt is digesting a small animal! ":rotfl:

I too have rocked the fanny pack over the years! ;) There are lots of things my Family & I wear or do only at Disney. For me it's all about comfort. Minimal make-up, hair slicked back in a wet ponytail, & comfy clothes. We do an annual ears shot in front of the castle so I make sure I look my best that day. haha :thumbsup2 We can only go in the Summer so it's really hot! I discovered really comfy tank dresses are the best for me. Even at Disney I couldn't bring myself to wear a fanny pack with a dress so I've moved on to a backpack or a cross body bag.

I want to join the club. I willingly wear my fanny pack at Disney and matching shirts, don't wear make-up. It is vacation and I am not going to see these people again. Also I laugh at those with the backpacks on as they have to stop, take it off, get what they are looking for then put it back on.....

And, I saw some in the $ section at target last week in different colors, I may have to pick some up and put an awesome design from the creative boards on then for next tip.

In everyday life I wouldn't wear matching shirts or a fanny pack nor would I go without make up, but at Disney it's fun.

Oh and for pictures..... I turn it around, looks like a belt.

I love it! Yeah, while at Disney, I wear minimal makeup--some days I wear none! We wear comfy clothes and just don't care. Vacation is vacation!!

awwwwww, love that pic!!!! Yeah, not so much looking like a belt in that pic. How did you ever convince your hubby to wear a fannypack?????? Mine will wear a backpack and that's as far as he goes. :rolleyes2

I thought I had seen every Seinfeld episode, but I missed this one. Made me :rotfl2:

I always wear my fanny pack at WDW. I love being hands free, having everything so convenient, and not having to rearrange stuff for rides. My pack is quite large and I don't take it off for pictures. Keepin' it real ... that's the way I do Disney.

I've never used it outside WDW, but I would if I wanted to. The great thing about getting older is that somewhere around 40, I quit caring what anyone else thinks. :thumbsup2

I'm the hubby :) Actually, it was my choice. Wanted something easy to wear and I have never cared for my looks :lmao: That is, never cared for what is in or out. If it works then it works :goodvibes

I have been instructed by my DW if she ever wears a fanny pack I am to shoot her at once. We raised twin DDs with many trips to WDW and no fanny pack. Now that DW and I are on our own on trips we travel with as few items as possible. In a few years we'll be taking DGDDs on trips so the necessity for some kind of additional storage will increase. Hopefully she'll have forgotten her instructions for me to shoot he if she opts for the fanny pack. I don't own a gun, and I'm sure as hell not toting one around in a fanny pack.;)

Yea I would never. Just BC I have kids and on vacation does not mean I can look like a slob. I still want to look presentable and great in pics

:thumbsup2 I say go with it! My hubby says he wouldn't even try a fanny pack out, so I'm not going to waste the money. LOL! He prefers his small backpack so I'm not going to push him. Plus, I don't wear one so.... But I think they've got some really nice fannypacks out there--especially the ones that have a couple drink holders!

Fanny pack = slob? :confused3

I really don't think it's that serious! :thumbsup2
