Fanny Pack?

This is where I draw the line. NO FANNY PACKS!

Since I've become a father and turned thirty, I'd done a lot of things I said I'd never do. Heck, we bought a station wagon last year and even considered a minivan. But I draw the line at the fanny pack. No way, no how, never, never never! I won't wear one. I'll carry a backpack and we'll keep non valuables in my daughter's stroller, but I will not, under any circumstances, wear a fanny pack. You can't make me. I will continue to laugh at all you fanny pack wearers!

BostonRob,
You started down a slippery slope when you bought that station wagon. See, I just turned 40 and I don't give a single thought to proudly wearing a fanny pack. Just wait 10 years...

(I did, however, trade in my minivan for an ultracool SUV!)

I am only 30, and I would NEVER in a million years buy a station wagon, but I could care less what people think of my fanny pack at DW. I'm not going there to make a fashion statement, I'm going to have fun and not worry about losing or leaving my stuff some place and to have my hands free. I am a proud fanny pack wearer at DW, and I will continue to be!!!
Fanny pack wearers rule!!!
Woo woooooo! :cool1:

Oh boy. This thread has me laughing. I am the one who always wears sneakers with shorts and ...yes capris. (I live in SoFla so no flames. We apparently have no fashion sense down here. The heat I tell you...the heat...) Anyway since it is now established I have no taste I will also admit to having someting of a fanny pack collection for WDW. I have the basic black mickey, the blue mickey, then a basic black from Kmart, then a new insulated 2pocket for those days when I do not want o take my cooler and finally a good size hip bag that holds 2 water bottles. My problem is deciding which one to wear on what day. :confused3

I challenge all of you fashion conscious folks to find anyone who looks stylish, cool or chic at a Disney park, esp. on a hot day at about 1 pm. You may think YOU look stylish, cool, or chic, but just look at the pictures of yourself when you get home. That's not what it's about. Just dress for comfort and you and yours will have a better time.

I hate fannypacks!!! I wore one for our trip to WDW last year and it drove me NUTS and I refused to wear one this year. For those of us of the female persuasion, I went and bought a tiny Vera Bradley bag that had a VERY long strap and wore it across my chest. I LOVED it...hardley even knew I had it on. I also bought the mini-wallet to hold my "Key to the World", credit card and a little cash. The bag was just big enough to hold my digital camera, the small wallet and a pack of smokes (Yuck- I know, but it gives you an idea as to how big the bag is).

If you have to carry a lot more than that, Vera Bradley makes bigger bags that are just as user-friendly.

If you don't know about Vera Bradley, go to www.verabradley.com. They have the most beautiful, feminine bags, luggage and accessories...I loved having ALL of mine at WDW...it travels easily!!!

I accept your challenge. I do my best to always look my best (without going overboard of course)
Personally I don't use the heat as an excuse to dressily, look or smell like a mess; You can still dress stylish, chic, have your hair neat, lip gloss on.

As far as the fannypack discussion - I too am a firm believer in the HATRED OF FANNYPACKS. For a couple years I was able to keep my belongings the in diaper back, now that the diaper back is no longer:banana: , I use a Coach purse (that I bought at the Coach Outlet on sale in Orlando last year) the purse is about 8 inches longs and 4 inches across, with a strap that has "claws" on it, so it can be worn either around the chest or around the waist. The shape of the purse in kinda like an envelope. I can fit my camera, smokes, ID, money, comb, lip gloss, in it comfortably, I can fit more it if I have too.

I never understood why everyone hated the hip pack. I have one that I bought in 1990 and it still looks great and no damage. It is made by Madden bags. If you can get any bag made by them, they are super high quality.

Hey I'm 24 and refuse to wear a fanny pack. Instead I wear a Vera Bradley Mimi backpack. It leaves my hands free and its actually very roomy inside without being heavy.

Wearing a fanny pack makes you look goofy. My theory is that this is why fanny packs are so popular amoung Dis'ers and WDW world patrons in general...everybody wants to look like Goofy!

My family thinks that fanny packs look geeky but I like my hands free and my important items right in front of me. So, I bought a Bagallini. It coverts from a fanny pack to a small shoulder bag. I got a smaller one in black for evening and a bigger one in taupe for daytime. It is not geeky at all. I like it when we go out to dinner and dancing as a don't have to worry about leaving my purse at the table when I can attach it to my body. It comes in other colors too. I'm taking both with me next week.

OMG a veritable fanny pack wardrobe!! :rotfl2:

Ok fanny packs may look dumb but it is dumber to carry a purse around all day. You don't have to worry about losing it. I have carried one at WDW since I was five. I will be 17 on our summer trip and will still do so. Its not like anyone cares.
