Fancy or Fun????

I posted the same discussion in the wrong section....that could be why it wasnt answered. lol!
Anyway, my son and I are on the reg dining plan...and i cant decide between a signature restaurant or hoop de doo for me and my DS11. I know he wanted to try a signature restaurant....i was thinking either cali grill or citricos. But im torn because I know he would also love hoop de doo. I know the two are very different experiences. What are your thoughts? (I am leaning more towards hoop de doo).

I have never done HDDR because I don't think it is our cup of tea. But DS and I had a Mom & Son trip when he was 12 and we did try Cali Grille. It was a wonderful evening, very special. He tried some foods I never would have thought he would try. The fireworks were amazing. It was a great experience for us.

We ate at Citricos as a family last year and it was amazing as well. Food may have been a bit better than Cali for us but you can't beat the view at Cali.

We've done all 3 of the places you mention, both with and without kids.

Of the 3 I think Citricos would hold the least appeal for your DS (although the food would be the best).

As a PP has said, Cali Grill's great (especially if you can get an ADR that would allow you to be there during Wishes), and you will probably find lots of other families with children.

HDDR will be the most fun for everyone. The food is fine (not fabulous, but then you aren't going primarily for the food quality). And the show, while undoubtedly corny, is enjoyable for people of all ages. I would do this one on this trip, then plan of CG for the next.

It's always so hard to just pick one.....BTDT
