DD's 6th form is having a raise money for Haiti event on Friday and all the year 12s need to dress up as a country or a place. I really need some ideas that can be done fairly easily without having to buy stuff (or at least using stuff which would be easy to get hold of).

So far, we have come up with France (stripe top, black cut-offs and a black beret) but need something that makes it more obviously French.

Or Hawaii - step-Mum has a lei she can lend us but not sure how/what else she could wear.

My best idea was to get an old t-shirt and stick hay to it in the shape of a big T - hence Haiti (hay-T) but DD didn't seem keen (and not sure where we would get hold of hay).

So, creative DISers, stick your thinking caps on and give me some ideas please :flower3:

I was going to say France. Maybe she could carry a baguette, or a basket with bread in. It's a bit chilly for Hawaii, I don't think she'd fancy wearing a grass skirt at the moment! :rotfl:

That seems very French to me. But you could maybe add a curly type of tash, or the obvious string of onions or garlic round the neck.

Mexcio? Poncho and Sombrero?

I think your idea with France is cute though! Esp w/ a beret and a baguette!

If it can be a place...what about Florida? I'm sure you've got a few bits and pieces related to Florida around the house, Joh.;)

We just went to an Australian themed party and just went in safari type shirts and crop pants with plastic spiders sewn onto the tops and a hat with dangling corks. You could also do Australian with surf shorts and Hawaiian shirts, shades etc.

I've got a grass skirt somewhere I can post you if needed.

What about Ireland, she can wear all black and a white hat and then she is a pint of guinness :goodvibes
