Fan Club Card

I think I will just go with the AAA rate. It is only a few dollars more. The e-mail from TheMouseFor Less said to send a SASE and they would send a Fan Card, but I don't think I want to take the chance. Also it seems there is more chance of getting the Loews Card benefits with AAA rate, than with FAN rate. Thanks for your help.

I was under the impression they only mailed cards for Universal Hollywood Fan Club...anywhoooooooooooo......

You DEFINITELY qualify for Loews benefits with the AAA rate. With FAN, you are taking a shot as they don't techniquely owe you the benefits with any of the deeply discounted rates (FAN, ENT, APH, FLA...)

I've got one of the old, thin credit card style fan club cards. And, of course, I didn't exactly get the card through my company. Is there any way to use it for getting an annual pass?

i am my company's fan club director but have not really figured out how it all works... i am publicizing it thru our company newsletter... how do i physically get the cards? also, as a director am i entitled to add'l perks? how do i get them? i read thru the website, but maybe i'm dense or something 'cause it did not make a whole bunch of sense... any help is appreciated! :flower:

Hi gigi, Well, they used to have a real card that they gave you. Now, everything is done over the website. I am not an admin, so I don't know about the additional Perks... I suggest e-mailing tinkerbarb (she responds quicker to e-mails) and ask her.

How does it work? well simple, when they make their reservation they need to ask for the FAN CLUB rate. They will bw asked the code and who they work for (to make sure it is a valid company and for statistics). As a suggestion, I would also have them ask about the Entertainment book rate (you know that big coupon book that is sold just about everywhere?) sometimes that rate is better, and sometimes the availability of each rate varies (sometimes rooms aren't available with some discounts but is with others) The other big discount rate is the AAA rate.

I would also suggest having them printing up the perks page before going ro US.-just as a reference.

Other good and quick suggestions, Stay on US property... the unlimitted fastpass is worth it. Even if you have to change resorts (to stay on property at Disney) With an Unlimitted Fastpass (if you skip a lot of the shows) you can do both parks in one day "Commando Style" as 2 adults. I would recommend at least a day at each of the two parks (with the unlimitted fastpass), IOA is a great coaster park, and US is a great Studio park.

I would also check on the ticket rates. When I went last time it wasn't a whole lot more to buy an anual pass than the regular tickets, but that was a few years ago.

Best Ride? Spiderman (when it works right, weirdest when it gets confused.) Favorite Coaster.. That is a toughie. It is between the front car on Fire (Dueling Dragons) and the Hulk...It is worth the extra wait for the front car in Dueling Dragons. I liked Fire just a little better.

Most dizzying ride, Cat-in-the-hat. DW actually got sick on it "Because she hadn't eaten"

I hope this helps...

Anyone know about this? Someone from DIS sent me two cards, and a brochure that says "Discount code" on it with a card ..

Foladar, You can try to use the old cards, they do not have an expiration date on them. They have changed the program to be all Virtual. I have no idea of the new current codes.

My apologies.

I Have Annual Passes To Universal And Islands Of Adventure, But I've Never Heard Of The Fan Card, Can A Family Apple For One, If So How?

Are Fan Club Card Also Available For All Disney Parks And Water Parks? If So Are They Accepted At Downtown Disney, I'm Headed Down To Universal Studios And Islands Of Adventure On 03-20-05 And Going To Disney On 05-20-05 And Was Intrested On Any And All Info You Guys Can Give Me Re: The Fan Club Card. I Have Never Heard Of It Untill Today!!!

fan club membership is only for universal... it does not apply to disney or downtown disney at all...

fan club no longer has 'cards' but rather if your employer is a member you can get a code from said employer to receive the discount... it is my understanding (and i hope someone will clear this up if i am incorrect) that the discount is now only good on hotel stays, not on goods/services/meals/etc...

ENJOY!

Annual pass discounts are most likely better anywho, since you cannot apply for one nonetheless.

::yes::

What they said...

The Fan Club card is a Corporate Discount program that Universal offers.

It USED to have discounts on CitiWalk, but now those are gone.

The hotel discounts are close to the AAA and Entertainment book rate.

As for Disney, they USED to have a Magic Kingdom club (whick changed to the Disney Club) which went away last year. There are many people upset about this.

I wish I had better news...

Been in FanClub for years.Jus' don't cut it anymore or you have to get lucky on the date of stay .Code for us is FAN62397 if you want to compare.

We received the fan club card through the Perfect Home Plan which has discounts for hotels, housewares, rental cars and much more. We will be at US later this month and planned on using the card for gift shops and food. We will have 4 children, so it will come in handy. But some of the messages sound like we can't use it anymore! Has anyone been able to buy food or gifts with it lately?

Thanks

You can TRY, but they have revamped the program. I would take the card and the booklet that explains the benefits. It doesn't say it expires, but the program doesn't give those discounts any more...Actually, unless you are employed by a company that is signed up with them, they say you are not eligable for any of the discounts. I would still try to use them...

We went to US last Fall and we got 10% off in the gift shops in the theme park. No discount for food carts. We used coupons in the restaurants so did not use them in restaurants. BTW, they are still issuing plastic cards....

Really? I was told that the cards are no more...

Live and learn.

We were at Universal last week June 20-24 and used the Fan Club Card at the gift shops. Got 10% off stuff for the kids. It came in handy. We got ours when we signed up for the Perfect Home Benefits Plan.

They are still sending "plastic" cards out to folks going to Universal Studios California.

The last post on this way quite some time ago. Is the old cardboard card still good or is there something else that needs to be done?
