Famous People You have met While at WDW

I've got a great story to add to this...

When I was 13 (around '98) I was at Disneyland for a dance competition and we performed at the park. We spent the day there afterwards and in the afternoon a couple of us girls decided to go do a little shopping. While we were in one of the gift shops we saw this really tall and extremely thin man wearing a very torn shirt and HUGE sunglasses with a little girl. Being 13 year old girls, we laughed a bit at his appearance. During our laughter, one of our adult chaperones came up and told us to be quiet cause that was Mick Jagger!!! Funny thing is, we had performed to "Satisfaction" earlier that day. :)

When i was 12 or so on a Disney Cruise , Lance Bass from *NSYNC was also there for the week , and as a 12 year old girl I believed it was fate. Got several pictures of him but none with him.

Not in Disney , but while on vacation thanks to DVC in Hawaii me and my brother spoke to Anthony Hopkins briefly on the beach one evening.

We've seen Wayne Brady and his family having dinner at the Brown Derby. He has an adorable little girl! We've also run into Julia Child who was seated next to us at the Coral Reef restaurant. It looked like she may have been dining with her grandson. I wanted to whisper to our server...."I'll have what she's having!" :goodvibes

Saw Lee Corso from ESPN College Gameday, exiting Animal Kingdom as we were going in. He was very pleasant and gladly stopped for a photo. He noted my Virginia Tech shirt and talked a bit about it and how much he enjoys doing Gameday from Blacksburg.

Corso lives nearby and in the offseason he works for Dixon Ticonderoga in Heathrow, Florida, just north Orlando.

Dh saw some football player a few years ago (I don't remember who) at MK. My cousin and her DD saw Jamie Lynn Spears at MGM and got a picture with her. Other than that, I'm too busy with 3 kids to pay attention.

I walked by Chevy Chase at the Tower of Terror years back. He's HUGE and had a hat pulled over his eyes. He was being led through a seperate entrence. I was sure it was him because he had held an interview that day that we sat and watched.

Also, during our honeymoon, my wife and I stayed at the Grand Floridian and we were in the concierge lounge in the main building. Now I'm not a huge Bear Naked Laddies fan, but my wife is. The signer guy was there with his family. Not the dark haired one... the other one. We were surprised that he didn't have Disney suites all around him. One did come up and make sure everything was ok, bu then left him alone. He was dressed completely normal. I didn't want an autograph because he was on vacation and I felt wierd. For my wife's sake, I regret it now. At least we got to ride the elevator down with him.

PS. Double digit dance!!! :cool1: :dancer: :jumping2:

OH MY GOD! I am so jealous! I would love to meet ANYBODY from the Barenaked Ladies. Lucky.

Although not AT Disney, we did talk to Tom Wopat "Luke Duke" at the Orlando Airport going home from Disney. Very nice guy, we almost missed the shuttle/train thing that takes you out to the concourse, jumped on right on time, and he started telling us about the time his son did that on the New York City subway and left the rest of the family behind! They had to get the police involved to locate him at the next stop.

So whenever I am home, I always watch the Today show like I did every morning before moving to Europe. On Thursday, January 5, 2006 Matt Lauer was not on as he was recovering from wrist surgery. Friday, after the parade at MK I was walking towards Cinderella's Castle. I noticed Annette Roque, Matt's wife and about 30 seconds later Matt appeared with a visible sling on. We saw his wife again the next day when she rode the Aerosmith rollercoster. She was on the car before my husband and seemed to be loving every bit of it

Saw Michael Jackson back in 1982 when my son was a baby. He was coming out of Peter Pan and I Yelled across to my husband, "take a picture, it's Michael Jackson". I walked right up and took hold of his arm. He just kept walking and my husband snapped the picture. Got him and just my hand. Boy was I bummed! DH said I was lucky the huge body guard next to him didn't do something to me for grabbing hold of him!

June 1987, waiting in line at Country Bear Jamboree: Tom Petty! It was a very long line (waaaaay before FPs!) and I was not about to give up my spot in line to approach him for pics or an autograph, but it was him for definite. ::yes:: For years, I've laughed about how he must have gotten some inspiration from his WDW trip, since a few years later he released that "Last Dance with Mary Jane" video with the Alice in Wonderland theme! :rotfl2:

At DL this summer while waiting for the parade on the train station steps, the CM working the area pointed out to us that Jason Alexander was in the park today and watching the parade too. I had to ask...and the CM kindly took me over to the street and pointed him out for me (Jason was watching from the patio area of Walt's apartment). I would have never know he was anybody if the CM didn't point him out to me.

At the LA airport that trip, I then walked right into Chad Lowe (Rob's brother, married to that gal that won two Oscars)...he dropped his coat and bag but held on to his Starbucks. I again didn't recognize...looked him in the eye, said "sorry", walked away and thought "wow, he's got great eyes, just like that Rob Lowe"....as I made my way up the stairs to the airline boardroom, I realized who he was. DRATS!

Wrong song, the Alice in Wonderland Themed video is, "Don't Come Around here" (could be way off on the title). Last Dance with Mary Jane was when he danced with a "dead" Kim Basinger. Other than that, seeing Tom Petty would be great...

Well, I didn't actually "meet" a famous person, but I finally saw one last week! My DH and I were in MK last week on Jan 29 and we were sitting on a bench on that path between Toon Town and Tomorrowland. We were the only ones there and it was a beautiful sunny day. I hapenned to look to my right and I saw one of the CMs that escorts VIPs and no sooner did I see him, I saw Kelly Ripa pushing her double stroller and jabbering away to the CM. I was able to get my husband's attention and she walked by us. I couldn't hear what she was saying, but she was sure talking up a storm. They went off to Toon Town and that was all we saw of her. She is very tiny in person.

The day before, we were in AK for the EE preview and we were standing just outside of Tusker House and the outside covered area near the bridge and I pointed out one of those CMs to my husband and I told him whenever you see one of those CMs, most likely you'll see a celebrity. The CM was walking with someone pushing a stroller (didn't recognize her) followed by a tall, good looking guy carrying a child. I told my DH that I bet he was an actor or something, but I didn't recognize him. He just had that air about him.

I finallygot to see a famous person in WDW!

We have bad luck with famous people.

We saw Kingkong bundy also. Very nice guy. Hubby got his picture. Wouldn't you know that is the one out of like thousands that did not turn out.

Now, the dreaded Rod Stewart story. :guilty: It has been 8 years and hubby still won't give it a rest. :furious: First in my defense I was newly pregnant and the dry ice smell in the clubs at PI were making me sick. We were leaving past the West End Stage where some guy was singing. I was pulling hubby along through a very large crowd. Now I was a newbie and didn't really realize that famous people sang there when they were in town. :confused3 Anyway as I am pulling hubby along he is trying to stop and was saying hey, that is Rod Stewart. I was saying no, it is just some impersonator. Well as we finally get through the crowd and some guy comes out and says thanks to Rod Stewart. No wonder everyone was looking at us like we were crazy. Okay I will be fair, I was the crazy one. :sad2:

The closest we came was our honeymoon trip when we shared a monorail can with the author Ridley Pearson. He was on his phone, so I didn't bother him, but what was I going to say.. "Hello Mr. Pearson! I've never read any of your books but I know who you are because you are friends with Dave Barry and I just love his stuff!". :rotfl: We were in the MK for the taping of the Christmas parade this year so we saw Regis and Kelly along with Kimblerly Locke and Wayne Brady plus some teeny-bopper singers I don't know. In the past I've seen Andy Dick walking in MGM on his way to a taping of the Rosie O'Donnel Show (which was being taped at the Beauty and the Beast stage). I also saw O-Town  and Mandy Moore perform at Jingleball 2002 on the West End Stage.

I think we may have seen the same person. The guy was in his late 20's or early 30's and had dark hair. His wife/gf was blonde and had a Louis Vitton purse. They had a three year old (or so) child with them.
My mom thought she recognized him as being on a soap opera. I only watch DOOL and she watches GH, and neither of us knew him from our soap! So, he had to have been on another show. She did, however, think it's an ABC soap.

So tell me, what kind of "CM" do I look for?? How can you tell the CM is an escort for a celeb?? The reason I ask is I made a fool out of myself one time. I saw a few CMs walking with this young girl, for some reason I thought maybe she was famous??? But then I think we realized she must have been a CM in training.. DUH!
