Hi folks! Has anyone done or is anyone doing a "familymoon" at The World? In addition to celebrating the marriage, it will be a first trip for all 3 boys :dance3: . I'd love to hear if you've done or if you're doing this. Thanks!

We are on our way for ours in less than a month! We are all super excited. I'll report how it goes:goodvibes

We did this in March, with our dd16, and ds 11. It was a great trip, although my dh and kids arent Dis maniacs like I am. All in all, we had a great time, and seeing pics of them with characters, riding things they loved, and swimming in the ocean on our free day made my YEAR! If you have any more questions pm me!

Familymoon???? Ok I have to google this one!!! What is different between this and a family vaca??? Personally, DH and I don't find any "alone" time in Disney (if you know what I mean ;) ) so it's not a vacation that spells romance to us!

OK...I got it. I just googled it. It's taking your blended family on your honeymoon right? WOW!!! You are some generous parents!!! NO WAY would I do this. DH and I take a "adults only" long-weekend trip once a year as it is!!!

LOL.. it's not for everyone I suppose.
Our situation was that I had a 3 yr old dd when we met. We had a son together 4 years ago and we were married in June.
So an unconventional situation called for an unconventional honeymoon.
We've been together 7 yrs.. lived together for 6 so it just made sense to us. We'll take our long kidless vacations when they are grown. We tried it once.. not doing it again.

Yup, I bet it works for some families. My family works when we get breaks from each other :rotfl: (DH and I work opposite shifts so we really don't see each other during the week...so the only alone time we get is if we PLAN it)

Oh I totally get that. And I could absolutely see us doing weekend trips away. We just went on a 10 day cruise once when they were younger and we were pretty miserable. But we have date night all the time and see each other quite a bit as I work from home so it's not as hard to get quality time.

Oh ya, I couldn't do 10 days...I'd probably spend half the time crying that I missed her! But 4 days is just about right ;) Hope your FamilyMoon is a blast. Looks like you are going right after me!

I don't have any advice, but just wanted to say "Congratulations!!!!:goodvibes

And, I think it's a fabulous idea! What a great way to start your married family life together :thumbsup2

Have fun!

I was taken on a "familymoon" to Disney when I was 7!!!!

It was my mom's second marriage and my bio father ditched us to allow our step father to adopt us.

At the wedding reception, mom and step dad (now my "dad" who adopted me) took me and my little brother aside and told us that they were taking us to Disney World for their honeymoon! After the reception, they went away to Cape Cod for the weekend and on tuesday morning we got up early and off we went on our first ever trip to Disney World as a new family.

They didn't have anything but Magic Kingdom back then! We went there, at at the Contemporary (the only resort), Sea World, and Bush Gardens.

I think it's wonderful!!! Contrats!!!!

DD and DS were also our best man and maid of honor!!
You should have heard dd at the hairdresser's when she called her the flower girl:rotfl:
She was polite but promptly reminded everyone that she was the Maid of Honor:)
We are so looking forward to this. Thank you so very much for the good wishes:grouphug:

Here's the scoop...
We're getting married on October 25th, but we have to wait until December 17th for this special trip (my boys are all schoolage - 5,7 and almost 9) because of school, etc. They don't know yet, and they are going to be so pumped because it's their first trip! (And we are sneaking away to Mexico for 5 days in November, too, for some couple time.)
I just really feel like the time in Disney will be a celebrtaion of our new family, a time to establish some traditions and a fresh and exciting place to make new memories.
Wouldn't it be cool to come back in the future for " famniversaries"?
We arrive at 11am on Dec 17th and head home the evening of the 23rd; AKL for 3 ights and the Poly for 3 nights.
I think that we're going to get 1st visit buttons as well as honeymoon buttons to wear around the parks. Maybe they'll bring us some pixie luck??
Again, thanks for the congrats and well wishes! And I can't wait to hear a report and see pics of ya'lls trips.
Natalie
PS - If you've recently returned from a "familymoon", please post pics and ideas. And to the sweet lady who reported on her familymoon memory many years ago - thanks. I hope my boys will share the same feelings in years to come!:flower3:
