Saturday, January 21. [Note: When I typed this in Word -- the squares were smiley faces -- I guess they do not transfer from one thing to the other. (Great computer lingo)]

So much better, and we are so happy with the weather. Sunny and warm. And our little Princess Chicken Finger is so much better. We got out and headed over to MGM. Took the bus and this time DGD actually paid attention to what was going by out of the window of the bus. (She didn’t when riding while sick.) Picked up stroller and had a picture taken at the entrance. The Little Mermaid show was just letting out and we got into line without a FP. No problem. DGD just loved it – the bubbles, the under-the-sea look of the theater and the mist which sprayed us. Very excited and animated about it. ☺ Then we did Muppets 3D – what a great show and again DGD so into the whole thing – yes and thank you Lord for the healing miracle! ☺ Next The Great Movie Ride – I told DGD there was one scary part and that I knew when it was and would cover her eyes. The sound means nothing, but it is scary to look at. She did just fine, and enjoyed it. ☺

Time for lunch – we went into the Commissary for that and got – chicken fingers and apples. We are really having so much fun by this time. Commissary is rather empty and we had a section all to ourselves. (I really love this time of year at WDW.) After lunch some poses with characters including the “Big Cheese” and on to Behind The Scenes Tour. She loved Catastrophe Canyon! ☺ Then we went over to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and she had such a great time with the climbing and the slides and the running and jumping. ☺☺

Stopped to see pictures on the way out and of course, bought a couple, but not all ready as yet. On to bus for the TTC – then monorail to the MK. By this time it was about time to eat again and we went into Columbia House. I believe we did chicken fingers once again – which I shared with DGD as I was not starving and for some reason I don’t think they had that on the kids’ menu. DGD and I did the Magic Carpet ride -- ☺ Then Pirates of the Caribbean – telling her that it was dark at first, but there was really nothing scary. Told her to watch for pirate with the dirty feet – she liked that. ☺ Went into Country Bears and really liked the show -- ☺ When we came out of Country Bears, the Spectromagic Parade had made its way back to Frontierland and we stood right there on the porch and watched the whole thing.

A little later in the parade there was a spot along the rope line and I walked there with DGD and she saw the rest of the parade up close. People were nice to let me give her a spot. She is so little and it was just the two of us. Really liked the parade. ☺ Made our way back through the park and onto Main Street. The fireworks spectacular was about to start and we returned the stroller and decided to stand right there at the train station to see it. Thinking this was far enough removed to not scare her. GPA put her on his shoulders, but she was having no part of it. And I think I have decided that she is afraid of heights – as there were a couple of other occasions where she would have nothing to do with being up high. [What I have observed -- At the Air and Space Museum in Dayton, she would not walk next to the railing when we were on the balcony level looking at the rockets – said she was afraid. Also when her mom picked her up to sit on the railing for a picture outside of the GV, she violently objected and cried. And was hesitant when we wanted her to do almost the same thing on Tom Sawyer’s Island. I must mention these things to her mom] So with the fireworks viewing being a failure, we decided to beat the crowds and pushed on the OKW bus stop – saw some of the display from there and that was fine.

Medicine, snack, a little TV and then off to bed for DGD. GPA and I did a little packing up as we were going to move into the Grand Villa tomorrow and hoped it would be ready early.

At this point I just want to do a little overview of the preceding days. We had planned this for so long and we had such a good time with Princess Chicken Finger, but her ear infections really did put a damper on the first two days. Once she felt better, she was so much fun – happy, funny, cute, full of energy. If there were any way to do those first two days over with her well, or go back right now while she is still this age, I would do it. But life is not perfect and we did experience a miracle with her rapid turn-around after the trip to CentraCare. So I thank God for His precious gift of healing and for the great weather and fun time we did have.

Also want to mention about DGD’s pin trading. Once she had traded the first one, there was almost no stopping her and I tried to be a little careful with her so that she was not trading the special ones which came with her lanyard and just used the doubles I had provided. She was very alert, looking for people to trade with and at one point approached a CM who was monitoring the playground in Dinoland. She did this on her own, as we were on the ground and she was on the second story of the maze, but we could see what she was doing and we just laughed at her chutzpah. Right after that she approached a man who was sitting near where we were at the playground and asked if he wanted to trade, but he said no. He was not a CM, and we had to explain to her that she should look for CMs with yellow lanyards – they would always trade with her. The wife of this man was sitting with us and said, no he is not going to trade, as some of his pins were more than 10 years old. Anyway, as the days progressed she continued to be enthusiastic about pin trading and we added to her collection, too.
And when DGS came he had his lanyard and we added some pins for his collection. It is fun for both of them and we try to add pins for rides they have ridden or with the year on it.

Day 6 coming up.

You are having such a good time......I am ready to go in 40 something days....I know about the chicken finger craze........our granddaughter has never eaten a hamburger....just chicken fingers....how she is 16 and eats chicken sandwiches at fast food places.........thanks so much for the vision of your gd asking the man if he wanted to trade......I can see it now.
my hubby is very particular about his Jasmine and dalmatian pins.....thanks again

Another great day. Pin trading can be so addicting. I got really into it one trip, and lucked out and got three cast member lanyard pins.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Greta report. we were at the MK the same day as you! We atched the spectromagic parade and fireworks in front of the castle. I thought it was crowded while we were there. It was supposed to be the "off" season, but it sure seemed crowded to me!
