1st day Tuesday 4th December
Myself, DW, DS and DDIL left home 4.00am :scared1: by taxi to Newcastle Airport having checked in on line.Checked in luggage and went straight through security had cup of coffee and then waited to board the plane to Heathrow. Left Newcastle at 6.30 had to wait half and hour to disembark at Heathrow (temporental skyway) then had the unenviable task of having to catch the bus to Gatwick Airport. Not as bad as we had first thought though we did feel a bit rushed. Once we arrived at Gatwick and checked in at the premium economy desk we went through security using fast track. Went straight to the Virgin Clubhouse where the service was excellent, enjoyed a good breakfast and I also used the internet lounge there. Waited in lounge until announcement of flight, just relaxing after the early start. Went to gate and found only half a dozen people waiting to board, thought we were late :scared: but found out later only 90 people on board hence the quick boarding of the plane.:cool1: Always enjoy that welcome glass of champagne, even had a second this year !.Settled ourselves down for the flight. Another glass of wine, looked at the menu and decided on the beef. Chose which films I would watch although DW had problems seeing the screen (varifocals not good ) she decided to have her meal then sleep. peace ! :cloud9: In no time at all (helped by a couple more glasses of wine) we were flying over the coast and following the Beeline to MCO.A nice smooth landing after a smooth flight and we were disembarking to face the immigration no problem, saw a few sent to the back to correctly fill out their forms but we sailed through, waltzed past customs, avoided the double drop and then we were soon on our way to POR :dance3:

Great start, off to read the next installment.
