I am looking for a hotel that is within short walking distance of the park that has two rooms since we will be traveling with our three small children who go to bed earlier then we do. :cool1: I had hoped to stay at HOJOs but the fun pool area will be closed during our vacation so I am looking for other options. Thanks for your help!

We just got back from a stay at Americas Best Value Inn on Katella (Fantasy Inn). It is a 10 minute walk to the resort entrance on Harbor... It has suites that have a separate bedroom and the rooms are big. It has a nice pool and with only 40 rooms it is uncrowded... There are a couple of rooms that front Katella that would be noisey so just stay away from those... This is strictly a 3 star hotel though but it was clean, just a little dated...

When I was researching there weren't that many that had a separate bedroom, I think Hojos and Alpine

Last year we stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott on Clementine. It was about a 10-15 min. walk with our 3 young kids. It had a decent pool and a free breakfast. They also offer 2 BR suites with kitchen.

We are going in may and will be staying at Residence Inn by Marriott main gate if we don't rent a condo instead. A few people here said they liked the hotel. They have a kitchen, living room and bedroom or you can get 2 bedrooms. They also have a free breakfast in the morning and wi do food shopping for you free if you need some done. I was told it's a 10-15 min walk and it is a stop for the art.

Check out the Desert Inn & Suites. They have 2 room suites reasonably priced. You can't get much closer, they are located directly across the street from the park.

All the Hotels offer this.... But typically it is the price of two rooms as well... We went with Americas Best Value as it was cheaper than the price of one room at all the ones across the road at Harbor (Carousel, Tropicanna, Camelot, BWPPI, DI&S). We paid $79 + tax per night for a one bedroom suite for 11 nights, we emailled and negotiated direct with the hotel.... The trade off was the extra walking distance (extra 8 minutes). Having stayed at the Carousel and Tropicanna previously we prefered this hotel over them...

We are staying at Desert Inn and Suites for our upcoming trip Sept 12-18th. We are paying $79 for a two bedroom suite (four queen beds and a pullout couch) with 1.5 bathrooms. Seemed like a great deal considering the proximity. Pretty much leave the hotel, cross the street and you're there. This will be our first stay there we also normally stay at HOJO but the entertainment rate was not available and we need a suite for the same reason as OP.

We have stayed at the Desert Inn and love them, but how in the heck did you get that room for $79?! That same room for our trip a month later is like $205/night!

So we will be staying at the Islander Inn & Suites.

Yes it was a lot more than that when we were looking too... We were a little put off by the inside swimming pool as well... but that would be a bonus if going in winter...

We always stay at Desert Inn too. I have found that you can get a much better deal if you book way in advance. We've got the same room booked in November for $119 a night, excluding nights on the weekend and Thanksgiving Day. I would assume that is what disheadz must have done or maybe gotten a great last minute deal. Still, they are a great location. We would rather pay a few dollars more than walk 10 more minutes each night. I think it has something to do with staying 2 weeks and wearing our poor tootsies out!

We are staying at DI&S in October and got the two room 1 and 1/2 bath for $119 a night. :cool1: It's our first time staying there, I'm really looking forward to the convienence of staying right accross the street! Last time we stayed at the Residence Inn, very nice rooms and really good breakfast, I just didn't like having to drive, park, take the tram, etc.

We have stayed here a few times and loved it.
