Which value resorts offer family suites and which one's are the best?

I think it's just All Star Music (which is essentially 2 rooms with a wall knocked out and sofa/chair beds) and AoA. Definitely AoA are better but much more expensive so I guess it depends on your price point. I would love to stay in an AoA suite one day.

No comparison in the resorts themselves, AoA is hands above nicer than ASMu.

ASMu - existing rooms and all look alike, walls removed, same bathrooms, bedroom and living room. Queen and then all fold outs. Sofa, chair, ottoman fold out. 520 sq feet.

AoA - built as suites and comes in three themes, living area very open, brand new large bathrooms, bedroom and living/dining space. Queen, murphy bed, fold out sofa. 565 sq feet.

Very different budgets so that factors.

There are pictures online to compare. I have not stayed at AoA, but when I look at the floorplans, etc. I don't think I would.

ASMu has a large living room, AoA has a smaller one plus a separate dining room
Closets - ASMu has 2 standard hotel room closets, AoA has a locker and one hanging rod in the living room
Kitchenette - ASMu has a separate space, u shaped, with upper cabinets and lower shelves, AoA has a small area in the living room
Sleeping - ASMu has a sofabed, chair and ottoman that pull out, AoA has 2 separate sleeping areas - sofa bed and dining table

Not comparing all the other amenities, just the room itself, I think 6 people would not be as comfortable hanging out in the AoA living room, whereas in the ASMu living room, there is a ton of room for folks to hang.

The other thing to consider - AoA has inside corridors, while ASMu has the standard motel outside corridors, which is a consideration for some folks in terms of safety.

Just my opinion, I don't think AoA is bad, just not my style.

AS Music's family suites are just regular rooms with the wall between them removed - so you have the same basic layout as you would in two connecting rooms, but without a wall.

AoA's suites were built as suites so they are laid out differently.

AoA is newer and closer to the center of things, but AsMu is cheaper, and possibly a bit larger.

I've stayed in the All Star Suites and really liked them. The layout of the AoA suites doesn't appeal to me at all. What idiot puts the kitchenette right next to one of the sleeping surfaces? I get that it is the kitchen table that turns into a bed, but really, no space between them at all? That renders the kitchenette almost unusable imho.

Minor clarification :): No walls were removed. The ASMu Family Suites were created from the connecting rooms. The connecting doors were removed, and possibly that opening was slightly enlarged. Additional construction included eliminating one outside doorway - the one in the bedroom, which could be a consideration if the living room is intended for young children - and the additional of the kitchenette in that room.

Parts of walls were removed, doors removed, walls added ............. doesn't matter. The point all of us long term posters were making was that the suites at ASMu were not built to be suites - but rather two old rooms were merged via construction to convert into a suite. Therefore the layout may or may not be functional to some guests.

We have stayed in both. There are pros and cons of both layouts.

I like that the master bedroom and bathroom are connected in AoA.

At ASMusic, the kitchenette between the bathroom and master bedroom is a little strange.

I also felt like the living room is more cramped at ASMusic, esp. with the beds open, but it does offer three separate beds in the living room (vs. 2 at AoA) if that's what you need. AoA feels much more open even with both beds open - the kitchenette is easily accessed even with the beds open. At ASMusic, it is difficult to even get to the exit door with all three beds open (or even just two).

The theming at AoA is fantastic - it is fun and festive.

If it came down to money, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in ASMusic suites again, but I prefer AoA suites.

It appears the bathrooms in Asmu each have a bathtub shower however the AoA baths are one shower stall with glass door/one bathtub shower with curtain. In case you needed two bathtubs at once. For some families this might matter.

That description is not right at all. There is not just a space where the connecting door used to be. The walls were all either moved or taken down. I'm not sure you can tell from the pic of the layout, but the opening between the 2 spaces in the All Star Suite is not door sized. I would guess the opening is easily double the size of what was the connecting door. That whole section of wall is gone. Plus a side wall and door was placed where the bedroom is.

We just got two connecting rooms at Pop Century last trip, and I'd do it again for sure. We kept the door open between the rooms and made sure the door was locked and blocked in the kids' room. If having the door in the second room would make you uneasy, then I don't recommend this option. Otherwise, we really enjoyed all the space and the price wasn't bad.

We have done that too. The only problem is that they don't guarantee you will get connecting rooms. They are not a bookable category, so you don't know until you get your rooms if they will connect or not. And if they don't, and adult has to sleep in each room.
