We are tossing around the idea of having two of the kids friends with us next trip. So it would be me, DH, 18, 18, 21, and 22 year olds. I kept telling my kids that for it to be affordable, we'd have to do two value rooms and they might not be connecting.

Today in the mail I got a PIN code for our dates. It's making suites at ASM and AoA possible. ASM $600 cheaper overall. We haven't stayed in either resort. I see both have two bathrooms. Any differences which would make you prefer one over the other? I think theming in a Cars suite would be most appealing to the group, but saving $600 at ASM is nice too.

Other problem is I don't know how soon everyone would know their availability or if one or both of the friends will not be able to go. So I am wondering how soon I need to book. And best way to book (room only or package) if there will be possible changes/cancellation. Mostly for now I'd just like pros and cons on the two different suites though. Thanks!

Before you make a decision, review the sleeping arrangements in the suites. There is actually only one bedroom with additional sleeping areas. With friends staying, I think it would be more comfortable with two rooms.

I second the 2 rooms. 6 adults in one family suite? Waaay too crowded for me, unless 2 of them were small children. Two of the beds are just pull out doubles, so not sure of the comfort level either.

Also check out the ASMu thread about the room renovations. I’m not sure when people think the suites will be done and how they’ll be configured.

Between the 2 suites, I like the set up at the All Star Music better. The kitchenette is off in a little alcove. While at the AoA suites it is right next to one of pull down beds. Plus the All Star Suites are considerably cheaper.

Thanks everyone for the points to think about!

I've been looking at floor plans and pictures. Decided after seeing the pullouts in ASMu pulled out, that one's a definite no for us. Look very uncomfortable and have to be all right next to each other. The murphy and pullout in AoA look way better and are in separate areas from each other. Space-wise, the AoA suite has 45 more square feet than two value rooms. But the privacy factor is less.

So, I'll leave it to the kids/guests to discuss what they prefer between the suite and the two value rooms. And see if any of this even happens :upsidedow

Just fyi, there is no separation or privacy between the two areas. And is everybody comfortable sharing a bed with their friend?

Fwiw, I slept on the couch fold out, and found it very comfortable. And you would have 3 fold outs instead of the 2 you get at AoA. As far as being right next to each other, the ottoman and chair fold outs are easy to move. And one could be put into the little kitchenette nook, if you wanted to do so.

Between AoA and 2 rooms, I would definitely go with 2 rooms. You would have 4 sleeping surfaces (beds!) instead of the 3 you would have at AoA.
