Got up early again today. Able to make good use of the refillable mugs for coffee. It's so peaceful walking around the grounds of the Poly in the early morning! I was the designated coffee getter since I'm up so early. Tough to carry all those mugs at once though.
Decided that the plan for today would be to split up. Everyone but myself, Nan and the little screamer were going to go to Blizzard Beach. Since the little one was such a challenge, we felt we had some bargaining power. Our deal was if they took her to AK so we could do the countries at Epcot then we (Nan and I)would take her all afternoon so they could go to BB. We all felt this was a good deal!
Nan enjoys the countries and although I would have preferred to relax a little, I decided I owed her one for her babysitting so we could go to e-night. It was a good chance for a little more relaxed touring and we didn't have to worry about what anyone else wanted!
We got to Epcot about 10:15. Since ws didn't open til 11 we took the time to get something to eat at the bakery. We figured that with all the walking we would be doing, we could justify the danish we were about to eat! The weather today was still humid but felt less so than the other days! Perfect for lots of walking!
We were able to go to all the countries and spend time browsing through all the shops. We didn't spend too much time in some of the countries and the ones that really peaked our interest, we spent more time. This is the only way to do WS. We spent a lot of time in England since this is Nan's favorite. I started buying her tea cups a couple of visits ago in "England" since she loves her tea and really enjoys drinking out of very nice teacups! This year I thought was extra special since she had done so much to make this trip happen for everyone. My brother(CA dad) and I had decided we wanted to get something very nice for Nan and I knew that England was the place to do it. Well, I kept my eye on what she was looking at and it was a beautiful Royal Dalton teacup. (my mother loves Royal Dalton and had none of it). I knew this was the gift for her. Well, our gift to her was the teacup and the matching Royal Dalton teapot, a RD serving tray and a small RD tea spoon. I knew she would get use out of all of this and she would look at it every time she used it and remember the wonderful vacation we all spent together! As a family, we don't get to see each other very often all together.(Last time I saw my nephew was when he was 5 and he's 15 now) Enough with th esappy details! My mother loved her gift and of course cried!
Epcot was surprisingly uncrowded. We stayed until about 1 and then made our way back to the Poly to get the little screamer! My DH brought her to me about 2 and said that all in all she hadn't been too bad. I was able to take her for a swim in the quiet pool(she loves the waterslide in the big pool and I'm not into that) I found it much easier to watch her in the quiet pool if I was by myself! After a swim, we all napped for a little while. I found that with the drapes closed the room at the Poly gets very dark and it worked to get dd to take a quick nap.
Everyone got back from the waterpark about 6:30. We were suppose to go to Cape May Buffet but missed our PS.(no big deal) We decided that the adults needed to eat a good meal without children. We left the older boys in charge and we went to Kona for dinner. Nan and I had been there before and found the food to be very good. Well, we had a very good server(forgot her name). She was very attentive and pleasant. The food was just as we had remembered--Excellent!!(prime rib, mahi mahi and I don't remember what else we ordered) Everyone said the crab cake appetizers were very good. We really enjoyed the dinner without children and found it to be the most relaxing we had done. The bill came to about $200 for 6 of us and this included a couple of drinks for everyone. We all thought this was a good deal!
After a little browsing through the stores in the GCH we headed back to the rooms for sleep! The walk from the GCH to Tahiti is very nice at night with all the torches lit. The main pool was still full of families. It is a great addition to the Poly. We watched the fireworks from the room and then settled down for sleep. The oldest boys went for their late night swim which they couldn't get enough of.
The girls were going to ee at MK in the morning and for a surprise only for the girls. We needed a good night sleep if we were to get up and be in MK at 7:30. Once again, we had no trouble sleeping!
